« Last post by DB on Today at 04:06:02 pm »A minimum wage simply sets a barrier to the job market entry. You have to be able to produce more than you're being paid or you won't have a job. Young people starting out with no skills have to start somewhere. No job delays that start which causes numerous negative issues over time. And as the expense barrier increases there are strong incentives for the employers to come up with other ways to get the job done using fewer people and/or people that already have some basic skills.
So we import illegals, most of which know how to work, to do what jobs remain.
Government interference in the market distorts the market only increasing costs while lowering efficiency. The more that is piled on the more bogged down everything becomes. And the poorer as a nation we become.
