    Federal agents detained a dozen undocumented immigrants from Central America early Thursday after spotting them in the ocean aboard a pair of small fishing boats, headed for landings in Mission Beach and Sunset Cliffs.

It's especially important that these people be sent back as expeditiously as possible, in order to discourage more from trying to sneak in this way.

I know Mission Beach and Sunset  Cliffs well. No more than 20-25 miles max, north of the border as the Orca swims, or 35 miles as the auto rolls.

We should send them back immediately, far, far south regardless of where they live or where they departed from (which would likely be only a short distance south of the border).

If such migrants know that ahead, they will be less likely to risk it.
