Any show lucky enough to reach its 17th season can't expect big ratings. Tell that to the folks behind South Park.
The animated Comedy Central show snared its best ratings in years this week with Wednesday's season 17 premiere. The subject? A smattering of NSA mockery leavened by a smackdown of future MSNBC host Alec Baldwin and his hateful rhetoric.
Show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone continue to mine humor from subjects most of their peers dare not touch, eager to smite the left and the right as the headlines demand. The result? The show, unlike its animated cousin The Simpsons, remains edgy and relevant.
Cartman and co. aren't resting on their laurels. Instead, the crudely animated tykes are teaching their fellow comedy shows what it means to be equal opportunity offenders when it comes to comedy targets.

I posted the link from Breitbart the other day.. some were offended by it, but sadly they nailed Baldwin to a T.

The people at South Park are supposedly bright enough to nail Alec Baldwin without the gutter talk. It's done all the time. But that's just me.
