Is the "elderly man with a poor memory" excuse an early pretext to activate the 25th Amendment? Clearly they have either Michelle or Newsom warming up in the bullpen. Jill will hold onto power like a bulldog with a ham bone. The only way to dump Joe is to use the 25th.

That was a very bad idea to let Biden do that press conference. I assumed he insisted but:

Jan 6th is a symptom. Trump/Biden are symptoms. BLM riots are just symptoms
Back during the 2004 election, I told some friends at the time our country would become further polarized and elections will become more divisive and racial as time went on.
This is not an election regarding issues facing this country but making sure one side get one up on their opponents
But, ever the optimist, I believe the pendulum will swing the other way at some point

Biden Calls For The President To Step Down
https://babylonbee.com/news/biden-calls-for-the-president-to-step-down/
WASHINGTON, D.C. — After the shock of a Special Counsel report that characterized the President as mentally incompetent to stand trial, Biden has joined the growing chorus of voices in calling for the President to step down. "President Hoover needs to do the right thing. He's in over his head. Can't even do his job right," said Biden to the nurse administering him his daily medications. "Eisenhower is an honorable man, and he needs to do the honorable thing. I was speaking with Emperor Hirohito about it just last Saturwednesday. Blamflibbernuzzit!" At publishing time, Republicans had drafted a resolution in support of the President's call for the President to step down.

Well this is true, but I believe that they have already told her either she steps down willingly soon after Joe does for various reasons or they will find a way to remove her. She was nothing but a place holder. Who they truly want to run will be made known; i.e.., Big Mike or Valerie Jarrett, maybe Susan Rice or Eric Holder. Biden is doing at least 'some' of his nonsense intentionally. He is very old. He is very tired. He does not want all this bullshit. He wants to go to Delaware and retire.
Biden is being 'forced' into all this crap and he does not want to do it. What better way to sour his controllers than to screw everything up on purpose. I mean, the guy IS a f**kup. He always has been. But now he has the opportunity to use his natural stupidity to get out of all of this. So he can go sit on a beach somewhere for the rest of his life, with no meetings or phone calls or press releases. No nothing, but blissful rest.

I can't think of one. And there were reporters there egging on a replacement candidate. I have never seen a Dem press turn on a Dem like what just happened. They were openly hostile.
@Hoodat
Because they know that senile old fool is going to upset the leftist apple cart by scaring people into voting for Trump if he is allowed to run for re-election.
I THINK the original plan was to pretend everything was just peachy-keen in "Biden World" as he pretended to run for re-election,and then stepped down at the last possible moment so his replacement wouldn't have a shot at winning the WH,come the next election.
Seems they misjudged how senile that old fool really is,and now they are panicking because whatever it was they were giving him to make him seem to be semi-lucid no longer works.
I am GUESSING there must be some sort of legal code that would allow Congress to remove a sitting president due to mental incompetency, but I doubt there is enough time left before the election to make it happen.
Which means they either run with Biden,or some sort of "tragic accident" happens.
Maybe even something like a shot fired by a sniper?
That would be "killing two birds with one stone". The left would have a VERY public "legitimate reason" to get laws passed that nullify the Second Amendment, and chances are most of the public would be emotional enough to vote for it.
After all, speaking in a general sense of the current 'murikan citizin",who could POSSIBLY object to that after seeing a President murdered?
I wonder if it is possible,or even legal,to buy a BIG life insurance policy on a sitting president?

In one state, yes
Trump barely won Michigan in 2016.
Donald Trump got 47.6% of the vote. Hillary Clinton got 47.3%. It was that close.
-
Someone mentioned on another thread that it might be beneficial for the Democrats to try to take the house and hold onto the Senate, but let Donald Trump win the presidential election.
I don’t know if that’s their strategy, but that may be more beneficial for the Democrats. let’s say Biden goes all the way to the election and wins. Six months later, his dementia gets so bad that he is forced to step down. Democrats are stuck with Kamala Harris for the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential election.
If Donald Trump is president in that time, Democrats will come roaring back in 2026 and will be able to put up one of their so-called star candidates to run in 2028
I still think Biden will go all the way to the election. But I am softening on my stance

I couldn't disagree more.
He chased the Presidency virtually his entire adult life. I think he's absolutely thrilled to be President, and doesn't want to give it up. He goes home to Delaware all the time already, so to him this is the best of both worlds.
And I think while much of the rest of the world knows he's unfit for the job, Biden himself doesn't believe that. Joe Biden thinks he's an absolutely wonderful President, and gets offended and angry the moment anyone suggests to the contrary.
Look at it this way- exactly what does he have to look forward to if he retires? He's not young enough to have speaking tours or a second career to fulfill himself. He's the center of the world right now, at least in name, and clearly knows it. After that special counsel's report, and after what happened last night, my guess is Joe Biden tries to hang on to the presidency like grim death, because it's pretty much all he has left.

White House Counsel Ian Sams is freaking out at the presser lying by jerry picking through Hur's report declaring that Joe Biden is innocent that he didn't do anything wrong even though Hur said that the Afghanistan top secret documents were taken willfully.
The conclusion was Joe Biden willfully and knowingly had classified and top secret documents that he wasn't legally allowed to have but that Joe Biden wasn't of sound mind to face trial. Therefore no charges were filed.

REMINDER: The special counsel found Biden "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials," including documents "implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods."
I don't believe that is accurate.
What the Special Counsel found was that there was evidence that Biden "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials," including documents "implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods." In legal-speak, there's a major distinction between saying "there was evidence" to support a finding versus a formal finding that actually weighs the evidence and determines it to be convincing beyond a reasonable doubt. In a whole lot of cases, there is "evidence" to support both sides' positions. The determining issue is the weight of that evidence -- which side's evidence is the most persuasive.
The way I read the Special Counsel's report is that there was circumstantial evidence -- including the location in which documents were found, etc., that suggests Biden knew they were there and kept them anyway. But because Biden isn't mentally sharp, it is plausible (not beyond a reasonable doubt) that he simply forgot about them being there and so can't be said to have retained them knowingly. And he may be sufficiently disoriented/forgetful that even if he see the documents, he didn't recognize them as classified. Which is all a way of saying that though there is some evidence Biden "willfully retained and disclosed classified materials", there isn't enough evidence to prove "willfully" beyond a reasonable doubt.

When I watched the whole debacle I was amazed at how bad it was. I think most of the general public, if they even hear about this, will believe the spin. And that's a very sad thing.
-
That was bizarre. I'm betting his staff had a massive anxiety attack when he did that
Biden was always prone to outbursts when confronted. We have seen examples of this in the past. But now, it's out there for all to see
I suspect there will be a lot of unchecked boxes on ballots for president this year
I'm betting his staff sent out a flurry of resumes, starting right after they got Joe away from the podium.

Agreed -- the liberal mental midgets will believe Joe's spin. However, it was still obvious that he wasn't all there mentally. I believe we watched it on ABC.

They’ll circle the wagon as well other Democrats and their media allies
I have a hunch that there’s a lot of empty bottles of Maalox in some of his staffers his office, though
Biden said at least once, maybe twice, how he put this country back on its feet again. He is not going to resign without a very massive fight

@LMAO
Not really. If his staffers quit he is screwed because I seriously doubt he can wipe his ass on his own. I think/know that his handlers get him juiced up so he can fake a little dance while walking towards a stage, but what happens to him when they are no longer around to do it for him.
Yeah, his handlers could hire new staff, but it takes time for a new staff to adjust, and I suspect many would abandon THAT ship long before it sailed.
Besides,I strongly suspect that if your bio states "Worked for the Biden Administration",that will be the kiss of death in the near future.

White House Staffers Lock Nukes With New Security Question 'Which Of These Images Shows Mexico'
Feb 9, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. — White House staffers have — à propos of no particular newsworthy event — decided to upgrade the security system surrounding America's nuclear arsenal. Specifically, they have locked the nuclear codes behind a series of security questions, chief among them being, "Which of these images shows Mexico?"
Staffers say any President, no matter how unsenile, must answer the security question if they want access to the arsenal, and that this measure has nothing to do with President Biden's impeccable performance at the press conference last night.
"President Biden is super smart and alive, so he'll have no problem knowing where Mexico is, or Egypt haha," said White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain. "Nor will the President have any issues when asked to list how many children he has, or what his name is. You know, typical security questions to keep out the bots."
At publishing time, Russia had nuked America because Biden had failed the nuclear arsenal's final security question asking, "Are you a vegetable? Pick YES or NO." . . .

I take it the Press Conference with an old man yelling at a cloud did not go over very well, did it?

Biden expressed how forthcoming he had been, remarking how he had sat through a five-hour interview (spread over two days) with the special counsel answering all questions. Biden's performance is even worse after a few days to digest:
He must have known his mental competence would be questioned. Age is a perfectly legitimate concern. If he was unprepared to give a sensible response, he should not have taken questions.
Joe is hardly the first person to lose a family member, and he should stop exploiting Beau's death for political gain. Enough with the acting. The special counsel's report was about Joe Biden, and everybody knows that.
Vulgarities are commonplace, and I am mostly fine with them, but I don't want the POTUS to utter them in public. Misuse of God's name should be avoided also. Biden said he would return dignity to the White House, so he needs to respect the office.

I posted some of this on another thread, but there is a parallel to the FBI’s investigation with Hillary Clinton and this report from DOJ for Biden.
Remember when James Comey said something to the effect, “No reasonable prosecutor would bring charges against Hillary Clinton” in his report regarding her private server and emails”? Now we have a 388 page report that says Biden knowingly committed high crimes but is too simple and mentally feeble to stand trial.
This is clear evidence of the two-tiered justice we have for our politically elite on the Left. It is spoken out loud. It is in print.
It is outrageous.

In Hillary’s case, the DOJ did run interference for her.
In Biden’s case, they took a “unfit to stand trial” conclusion. Would a jury convict someone who was mentally unfit to be able to defend themselves?

But yet, he is our Chief Executive and running for a second term.
