Mike Lee Wants to Know Who Contacted Fox's Chris Wallace on Cruz

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, joins Sarah Palin in wanting to know which Republicans sent opposition research to Fox News Channel's Chris Wallace to grill Sen. Ted Cruz.

"I would be very curious. I would love to know who those names are," Lee said Monday on Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren." “I found that very disturbing. I found that very surprising."

Cruz has made enemies in his own party by pushing a bill to defund Obamacare. Some fear it could lead to a government shutdown and Republicans would get the blame as they did in the 1990s.

Wallace said Sunday that "this has been one of the strangest weeks I’ve ever had in Washington, and I say that because as soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions not from Democrats, but from top Republicans to hammer Cruz," Wallace said.

"Most things in Washington don't surprise me anymore," Lee told Van Susteren. "That one did . . . and we've got to the bottom of it."

Palin on Sunday sent out a tweet calling on Wallace to reveal his sources.

Radio talk show host Mark Levin also called for Wallace to reveal the names on Monday's "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

Considering the states they're from, the odds are a Democrat winning are very remote.
