Uhhhh .... NO! :chairbang:
WASHINGTON — The woman who has accused Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh of sexual assault, in an apparent bid to jump-start negotiations, has told the Senate Judiciary Committee that she “would be prepared to testify next week,†so long as senators offer “terms that are fair and which ensure her safety,†according to an email her lawyers sent to committee staff members.
In the email, obtained by The New York Times, the lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford said that testifying Monday — the timetable Republicans have set for a hearing — “is not possible and the Committee’s insistence that it occur then is arbitrary in any event.†The lawyer reiterated that it is Dr. Blasey’s “strong preference†that “a full investigation†occur before her testimony — wording that stopped short of demanding an F.B.I. probe and suggested she is open to testifying without one.

Sorry. Her 15 minutes are up. Move to vote now and end this gwadamn circus that has been manufactured by the Rats.

So, it's still a stall and little has changed.
-
Exactly, @TomSea.
Hey, @corbe, is there a poll as to whether or not she will show up? I bet there's bets going somewhere on that question by now.
-
Now with more poll goodness. @Sanguine

Perjury for the sake of one's personal political activism? I hope she isn't that stupid.
-
Polling is a tough job, @The Ghost but someone's got to do it.
-
Gee, folks...
What did I tell you?
Please take 30 seconds and read this:

It ain't "over", 'till it's over.
We're not even "o'er the hump" yet...!

She'll demand not to be questioned at all. No one can ask why she doesn't remember the date and location of the traumatic (imaginary) event that derailed her. Her high school yearbook will not be mentioned.
-
(Big) if she is there, she won't answer any inconvenient questions and will make all sorts of demands that make it impossible to get to the truth. I voted "no".

Ford taps Obama, Clinton alum to navigate Senate hearing
BY TAL AXELROD - 09/20/18 03:32 PM
Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of committing sexual assault when they were in high school, has hired Democratic operative Ricki Seidman to help navigate a potential hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Seidman, now a senior principal at TSD Communications, confirmed her role in an interview with Politico.
Seidman worked as Joe Biden’s communication’s director during the 2008 general presidential election campaign after Biden was picked as Barack Obama’s running mate. She also assisted in guiding Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

And (surprise!!!):
Seidman, a senior principal at TSD Communications, in the past worked as an investigator for Sen. Ted Kennedy, and was involved with Anita Hill’s decision to testify against Supreme Court Nominee Clarence Thomas.

"navigate the hearing"?
Line coach. She needs a lot of rehearsal time with an acting coach. Must stay on script and sound convincing.

Expect a lot of crying....and more claims of bullying the witness/accuser/liar
-
Repubs should get one person to ask her questions..preferably a woman who was once a prosecutor
Not good optics to have a whole bunch of men asking questions to a poor defenseless almost rape victim............/s

GOP got played again.

They always do....I really expect Kavanaugh to withdraw...I feel so sorry for this man.

Did Clarence Thomas withdraw? Hell no. He fought and called the ass holes trying to "lynch" him what they were.

Kavanagh is fighting back. I hope he doesn't withdraw.

Kavanagh is fighting back. I hope he doesn't withdraw.
I don't think withdrawing is an option. Getting another candidate vetted, groomed, and confirmed by January 20, 2019 might not be easy.
(in case unthinkably the GOP loses the senate)

These are different times...I gotta stop watching this my bp is sky high and now the last two nights I am dreaming about it.. **nononono*
-
He's getting a lot of support... I don't see him sunk at all.

Oh I hear you. I'm not my usual warm and fuzzy posting self This hatchet job on the Judge is directly responsible for sure. :seeya:
-
Rush supports him, really unilaterrally, (almost) all of the Conservative media is supporting him. Scalia's former law firm? And this episode looks so contrived. It's like the Democrats don't have a soul. She is being exposed almost by the hour.

A day or two back I gave his chances about 50-50.
Today, I'd reckon they've sunk a bit to 40-60.
It's all up to Grassley and his crew now.
Will he demand she appear and testify on his terms?
Or... will he cave and let the other side define the battlefield?
If he caves... the odds will have turned against Kavanaugh, and he'll be lucky to get through it.
Channeling Casey Stengle on the Pubbies:
"Can't anybody here play this game???"
-
My moneys' still on that Grass dude and Cocaine Mitch.
You underestimate Stoners at your own risk.
-
I think the Repubs need to stand up, this is a hill to fight it out on.... I think his chances are still good, I don't see the gloominess at all. Assuming she testifies... and in the very near future, no time after next week.
-
She deserves no investigation. She's given them nothing to investigate because her claims are so vague. That's even if it was their jurisdiction.
I'd flat tell her it's Monday or nothing, or the vote goes down, so he can start the new SCOTUS term Oct. 1.
-
Since when does some screwball leftist woman get to derail the nomination of a SC justice because of something she claims happened more than three decades ago?
She then sets out a list of demands before she testifies like she's running the show.
Enough of this farce.
-
She'll be there Monday. This was the plan all along.... Now the entire world will be watching and all she has to do it cry....then point her finger at him...that he's the one that did it to her. Game set and match... It's over.... This has been brilliantly played....

Because we women are so helpless and fragile and we need to be protected from those big bad men asking questions. 9999hair out0000 9999hair out0000

Read elsewhere that the Pubbies are talking about capitulating and postponing the Ford hearing date.
See my Reply 28 above.
The democrat-communists are on the verge of winning this one...

How about a woman who was once personal secretary to POTUS, such as, oh, his wife?
Didn't find out how old his daughters are. If they're old enough, might be nice to have them sit in next to mom.
I voted no, but would have chose 'will testilie on camera on the Capitol steps'.

Sorry. Her 15 minutes are up. Move to vote now and end this gwadamn circus that has been manufactured by the Rats.
Liberals always double down when they are caught. She'll show.
-
Why are there "negotiations?" I thought Grassley was going to insist she show up Monday without preconditions or the vote on Judge Kavanaugh's elevation to SCOTUS would go forward.
That Republicans are considering "negotiating" with this chippy sounds like they are caving. Caving is what they do best.

Congress: Ok, Ms. Ford here is your chance to set the record straight. Tell us what happened.
Ford: Nothing...
Congress: What do you mean, nothing? Nothing happened?
Ford: No...
Congress: Then why are you here?
Ford: If you don't know I'm not going to tell you.
Congress: Were you at a party 37 years ago with Mr. Kavanaugh?
Ford: If you say so.
Congress: Did you know Mr. Kavanaugh in high school when he was 17 years old?
Ford: Maybe.
Congress: Listen Ms. Ford you are testifying before Congress. You are not my wife! You have to give real answers.
Ford: Why is everybody harassing me! I feel like I am being assaulted!
