Boris Johnson Set for 68-Seat Majority According to YouGov Poll

Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party is on track to win its biggest majority in more than three decades, according to the most hotly anticipated poll of the general election campaign.
The Tories

 will win a majority of 68 seats in the Dec. 12 election, according to a YouGov poll which used a technique that more closely predicted the 2017 election than standard surveys. Such a majority would allow Johnson to deliver on his promise of getting his Brexit deal through Parliament by Jan. 31, and could also give him some freedom to make compromises in subsequent negotiations with the European Union.

UK PM Johnson implores Trump: please keep out of election
Michael Holden

LONDON (Reuters) - Prime Minister Boris Johnson said it was best if U.S. President Donald Trump did not get involved in Britain’s upcoming election when he visits London for a NATO summit next week.

“What we don’t do traditionally as loving allies and friends, what we don’t do traditionally, is get involved in each other’s election campaigns,” said Johnson, whose Conservative Party has a commanding lead in the polls ahead of the Dec. 12.

Elections set Dec. 12th, so perhaps eventually, as the stories grow closer to the election date, we will have a comprehensive thread.

@TomSea

I agree with him. The British left make our loons look like rank amateurs by comparison,and I suspect some of Johnson's support is coming from people who normally vote left,but see the writing on the wall and know change is needed.

BUT......,he should have said it to Trump in a private phone call,not with a press release.

FWIW I heard about another similar poll today.

I believe Brexit would be very good for Britain, and for the rest of Europe.

I am nt so naiive, to expect a carefree march to this conclusion.

Probably a couple of tricks left up the sleeves, of the opponents.

Bojo done good, so far.

Theresa May's polling lead fell apart in the days leading up to the election.  Watch out for a similar movement - specifically, lib dem supporters flocking to labour.
