Burnout is prevalent in my profession as well.   The stress is constant, especially nowadays when one must remain connected to clients 24/7 because of e-mail and the internet.

Hobbies are a way to temper the stress.   I paint, collect jazz records,  play dice baseball, raise dogs, and spout asshat political opinions on the internet   It all helps, at least a little.
