I have a Verizon fios 75/75 internet speed deal but every speed test except Verizon's shows really low times.
I can't figure out why the discrepancy between all of the search testers?
(All of them show more or less the same similar slow speeds .. except Verizon!)
Looking for ideas.
Btw: The tests are all done on my android phone.
Haven't run one on my PC yet.

It all depends on where the speed test server is. If it is part of Verizon's infrastructure prior to their Internet backend connection and near its wireless endpoints you get an artificially fast connection.

while cellular? Of course there is a discrepancy converting to internet and back. Internal cellular will be faster.
Try it with wifi and things will predictably be more similar.

My crappy old Droid is on straightalk, which is piggybacking Verizon, but on wifi, on my private network, it pulls 300+/15 ... about the same as any wireless device. If I am out and about, I am lucky to pull 100, cell or guest wifi in mid day traffic.

Folks don’t seem to understand my question?
All these tests are run on the same phone .. on 3 or 4 different sites!
If the phone shows low numbers on all those sites, it should show the same on verizon’s too!
I have the latest 5g, 6g capable “gateway” from Verizon.
(They call them “gateways” now?)
I am hard wired to the TV’s.
(For their TV program package)
The PC is connected from the router by Ethernet.
To get internet access on the TV’s and phones, had to connect with wifi.

If your service provider is Verizon ... and you run the test from a Verizon web page ... Verizon might "fast path" traffic that starts and ends on the Verizon infrastructure backbone.
The more network "hops", the more different network routers, switches, etc., your network traffic traverses.
Think of a service provider as an airline.
Think of a network as a flight.
Think of flight itinerary as a route.
Some service providers "fast path" traffic that doesn't leave their network - a direct flight, no stop-overs.
Accessing a site outside the Verizon network is like 1-stop, 2-stop, or 3-stop flight. The layover is "latency". The more layovers on your itinerary, the more time it takes to reach your destination.
Computer networks and airline networks are similar in design, but one uses airplanes and the other uses bits, bytes, and packets.
Where you go, how you get there, and how long it takes will vary for the same reason some flight intineraries take longer than others.

Are we talking phones or computers?
I use Comcast cable with a Mac Mini.
Using the free "speedtest" app, which I just ran a few moments ago, I get:
Downstream: 929mbps
Upstream: 22mbps
(this is after turning off the VPN)
I have only a "flip" cell phone and wouldn't even know how to measure it.

If same for same, all wifi, through the same router, it can only be your phone throttling wifi somehow, or Verizon interfering with wifi causing the throttling.

fixed dns in the phone perhaps causing slow...

if you can alter the network settings on your phone, set dns to 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4
those are Google dns numbers. That will likely only change the dns on your own network, and will resolve to whatever is default otherwise... but that would prove the problem as dns.

Thank You to everyone for your responses.
I have a beef with Verizon because they replaced the router I have used for years, (broken) and replaced it with a new high speed "Gateway" and upped my bill $25 more dollars ... with no increase in speed or anything else.
Same service, higher price!
