A Pregnant 14-year-old girl, Zahra, who was set alight by her husband's family, has died in Isteqlal Hospital, Kabul.

A Pregnant 14-year-old girl, Zahra, who was set alight by her husband's family, has died in Isteqlal Hospital, Kabul.
The incident in Ghor followed after Zahra's father got a new wife two years ago. At the time, he gave his daughter to a member of his new spouse's family in order to settle the matter.
In Afghanistan, this practice is called bad dadan, where girls and women are given to settle a dispute between families, often a blood dispute. Zahra is an example of this practice.

To me the most shocking thing about events like this is the self-styled "intellectuals" and "liberals" will read this,wisely shake their heads as the call Islam an actual "culture" and say things like this are not the norm. It has been the norm for more than 700 years now. How many more centuries will it take before common sense strikes?

Well,they are winning at the present moment,but IMNSHO that is only because they are the only ones currently playing Muslims versus Non-Muslims. The instant the west starts play,they start to lose big because when you have a culture that dreams of dying to please their God fighting against a culture that dreams of killing to please THEIR God,you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out who is going to lose.
Tell ya what. Give ME absolutely authority to conduct war against Islam and see how many people you see running around ranting and raving about Islam ruling 30 days later. By the end of the first week the entire Saud family would appear on milk cartons. By the second week every single international banker that moves funds around for Islam would have their own milk carton series.

I have no qualms at all about taking out the leadership and the financiers,but see no need to senselessly kill innocents. Nobody EVER won a war by killing privates so don't do it. If you kill the leadership and the people that profit from the war,you win the war,so why kill hundreds of thousands of goobers who can't even read or write,and know nothing about anything other than the dogma taught them by what passes for their religion?
BTW,I have absolutely no problem at all about turning mosques into dust,either. I do have mixed feelings about nuking Mecca,but only because a whole city and the fundie cretins that operate that Muslim Micky Mouse House would be reborn as martyrs to future revolutions. Do NOT give the enemy a rally point for future wars!
The emotional "me" wants to wipe it off the face of the earth,but the strategic "me" says let it (Mecca) stand and start a media program to diminish Islam and educate the goobers about how they have been used by tribal chiefs whose only real desire was wealth and power for themselves. That way we won't have to do this crap again 200 years from now.

Nobody EVER won a war by killing privates
Germany and Japan might disagree with you. You win a war by making the cost of continuing the war unbearable to those fighting against you. You break the enemies will to fight. That is how the north won the civil war and how the USA defeated Japan in WW2 and to a lessor extent Germany. We are still fighting in Iraq because we never broke the Iraqis will to fight against us.

And they would be wrong. Privates and civilians not in government positions don't make policy. They don't start wars and they don't end wars.
If we had taken out the Imperial Army Staff in Japan and Hitler and his General Staff in 1941 as well as shut they down economically,the war would have been over by 1942.
Instead we has assholes like the Harriman Family and their employess like Prescott Bush Sr investing money for them in the west,and giving them more power and less reason to quit fighting.
