My understanding is that the girls intentionally fouled. That is, they stepped out of the circle without throwing, as this typical high school track and field rulebook describes:
Quote
Foul Puts: Not measured

1. The competitor, after stepping into the circle fail to pause before starting the put, or touches the circle, not including the inner face of the stop board or band, if one is used, the ground outside the circle, the top or end of the stop board with any portion of their body before the throw is marked.  ...

There's an athletics discussion forum called Let's Run. Mr. M, a former coach and HS and college runner, visits it daily. They talk about everything happening in the world of track and field. Some of the lefties there are outraged that these five girls "refused" to compete against the boy, accusing them of (and I'm not kidding) attacking him by stepping out of the circle.

Hardly, @Texas Robin has been telling me that I don't get enough vegetables so I'm taking care of that dietary shortage before she gets here Sunday.

Good luck.

Proposed law: if someone tears down the American flag and puts up another flag in its place,
that person should get a free (but mandatory) one-way trip to that flag’s country

Now do Ukraine, Bern.

Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar and his wife have been charged by the DOJ for allegedly taking $600,000 in bribes from an oil & gas company owned and controlled by the government of Azerbaijan.

That's now two Democrats in Congress indicted for taking foreign bribes.

What did Nancy Pelosi do to earn herself a presidential medal of freedom? Give Joe, Jim and Hunter stock tips?

BIDEN: "Let's give one more round of applause for this year's Presidential Freedom recipients!"
He also called it a "Presidential Freedom of Medal" minutes earlier. It's the "Presidential Medal of Freedom."

Now The Truth Is Finally (Kind Of) Being Told By Mainstream
Media About COVID Vaccine Side Effects

Ian Miller

https://www.outkick.com/analysis/now-the-truth-can-be-told-about-covid-vaccine-side-effects

Lost in the debate around COVID vaccine efficacy is another, equally important debate around vaccine safety.

For years, the media and its "expert" allies have studiously ignored any and all complaints or evidence of any
harmful side effects from COVID vaccines. Instead, they've purposefully downplayed any concerns with the
simplistic and repetitive "safe and effective" messaging. Dismissing anyone who points out evidence to the
contrary as a "conspiracy theorist" or "anti-vaxxer."

But apparently with the absurdist, anti-science vaccine mandates, for the most part, safety in the background,
the truth can now be told.

The New York Times published an article and newsletter on Friday acknowledging that vaccine side effects are
real, can seriously affect people, and should be covered. What now? Where has that been for the past three years?
Carefully, safely buried by "journalists" devoted to protecting their political ideology and allies.

The Times acknowledged that vaccines can cause and exacerbate heart inflammation, "especially in young men
and boys." It also acknowledged that "the vaccines caused severe shingles" in limited cases per data in Hong
Kong. An article by Apoorva Mandavilli, a profound purveyor of misinformation on COVID in schools and the efficacy
of pandemic interventions, explained how Michelle Zimmerman, a 37-year-old with a Ph.D in neuroscience was
diagnosed with brain damage, while believing it was caused by the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.

COVID Vaccine Concerns Now Allowed In Left Wing Discourse

Even the Times' newsletter said that those who've had vaccine side effects should be recognized, blaming experts
for their efforts to downplay them with the express purpose of promoting vaccine uptake.

David Leonhardt, author of the Times newsletter, said he believes "people who are suffering deserve recognition
— and the lack of it can be infuriating." Then he quotes Dr. Janet Woodcock, a former F.D.A. commissioner, saying
"she regretted not doing more to respond to people who blame the vaccines for harming them while she was in
office." ‘I believe their suffering should be acknowledged, that they have real problems, and they should be taken
seriously,’ Woodcock continued.

It's a C for effort.
Which is an improvement on the media's unquestionable F for its performance during COVID.
