House Democrats will hold a 6 p.m. caucus meeting on Saturday to discuss their response to the Republican plan to attach a one-year delay of Obamacare to the government funding bill.

Democrats have been left mostly in the dark since House Republicans announced Saturday morning that they’re going to again amend the legislation that would keep government funded after Monday. The move by Republicans drastically increases the likelihood that the government will shut down.

The topic, members are being told, is the “GOP’s Latest Plan to Create a Republican Government Shutdown.”

Many Democrats headed to a 1:25 p.m. vote Saturday unaware of what Republicans were proposing.

House Democrats have held meetings every day this week since returning on Wednesday. Members leaving the caucus meetings have reported a generally unified response.

Only a handful of Democrats are expected to break party ranks and vote with Republicans on their latest proposal.
