Trump kills rumors about considering Haley for VP

Rumors that former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump could be getting closer to burying the hatchet since the end of the brutal 2024 Republican primary were shot down almost as soon as they began.

Trump denied this in a Truth Social post just a few hours after it was released, saying Haley “is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well! DJT.”

Haley was reported to be under “active consideration” by Trump to be his vice president. The South Carolina politician has yet to endorse Trump for the presidency since dropping out of the primary in March after losing critical states on Super Tuesday.

It has long been believed that Trump is interested in a female running mate — he had Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), former centrist Democrat turned independent Tulsi Gabbard, and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R-SD) on his shortlist at one point.

But Haley appeared to have taken herself out of contention, given Trump’s comments before the New Hampshire primary in January, and their combative relationship.

“She is OK, but she is not presidential timber,” Trump said. “And when I say that, that probably means she is not going to be chosen as the vice president.”

Biden campaign steps up efforts to convince older voters to abandon Trump

President Joe Biden’s campaign is escalating its outreach to senior citizens in a maneuver to flip a voting group that usually votes Republican.

Those outreach efforts include bingo games organized by volunteers in swing states and running ads during shows favored by older voters like the Price is Right.

Voters 65 and older have historically supported Republicans in the last two election cycles, but former President Donald Trump saw older voters’ support decrease from 2016 to 2020. A recent poll indicated Biden, who is four years older than Trump at 81, is leading Trump among older voters, 51% to 42%.

Voters 65 and older comprised 30.4% of the electorate in 2022. It’s also a demographic known to be more likely to vote.

“It’s a major turning point,” Biden pollster Celinda Lake told Bloomberg. “It’s really an inverse of the previous patterns, where Democrats traditionally do better with younger voters and have had trouble with seniors.”

Part of that shift may be because of Trump’s inconsistent messaging on Social Security or Medicare, which senior voters value. He said in March that “there’s a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting,” before backtracking to say he would never “jeopardize or hurt Social Security and Medicare.”

Voters polled in seven swing-states favored Biden over Trump 45% to 39% for Social Security and Medicare’s preservation.

Of course they're being more emboldened.  America has become the land of milk and honey for every crook, rapist, murderer, and thief in the world.  Anyone who lives in a sanctuary city or state had better keep alert.  A criminal is waiting to meet you, your money, and your property. 888blackhat

"The swamp" can be "neutralized" without having to actually "drain" it.

I have the way. The plan.

I'm the one Mr. Trump should call...
(completely serious about this)

We’re all the one Trump should call, fish!

In order to drain the swamp a conservative AG needs to be appointed and from there, the process of draining the swamp may have a chance.

The only one that I believe that has that capability, knowledge and integrity to do so would be Ted Cruz.

Unfortunately, Trump didn't utilize Cruz's capabilities and I don't see Trump utilizing him in that capacity should he somehow win re-election.

Like Trump, Cruz is all talk no action.

Teen pleads guilty in rock-throwing spree that killed 20-year-old driver
19h •

One of three Colorado teenagers charged in connection with a rock-throwing spree that killed a 20-year-old driver last year has pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal, officials said Friday.

Seven vehicles were hit by large landscaping rocks on the night of April 19, 2023. Three people were injured and one -- Alexa Bartell, the final victim -- was killed, prosecutors said.

Three then-18-year-old seniors were charged with 13 counts -- including first-degree murder with extreme indifference -- in connection with the incident.

One of the teens -- Zachary Kwak, now 19 -- pleaded guilty Friday to three new charges in connection with the rock-throwing attack, according to the Colorado First Judicial District Attorney’s Office, which is prosecuting the case.
