Israel Sends Ground Troops into Gaza; Netanyahu: ‘This Operation Will Continue as Long as Necessary’

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sent ground troops into Gaza early Friday morning local time, in an effort to uproot Palestinian terrorists who have fired nearly 2,000 rockets at Israeli civilians over the past several days.

The IDF tweeted after midnight:



Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted a video message, vowing to restore “quiet and security to the State of Israel.”

Too bad Bush2 didn't take the opportunity when Iran was killing US troops in Iraq to invade Tehran and depose those terrorists.

Too bad if Saudi Arabia would not approve.

I'll go on record saying that this was a blessing for Israel...sending their ground troops into Gaza.

At least in terms of keeping their military sharp for what may be just beyond the horizon.

Plus, it would be a terrific political opportunity for Bibi Netanyahu to get his numbers back up.

Hence "This operation will continue as long as necessary". 

Ever wonder why Netanyahu always waits until the whole world is watching and an election hangs in the balance to take out the tunnels --- even though he watches them being built? @DCPatriot

Hamas has declared war.  Time for Israel to level cities.  I would take the largest Palestinian city other than Jerusalem, and level it.  And then tell Hamas, end hostilities, or the next largest populated city gets leveled.  This is war, and proportional response should bot be in the equation for Israel.

Time to fully vanquish the Palestinians!
