Title and presumption:
"The Achilles' Heel of the West..."
The writer gets it wrong.
If The West has an Achille's Heel, it is the belief that all men are created equal.
Stubbornly clinging to that platitude will destroy us in the end.
Or, more correctly, our inability to let it go will enable our enemies to overwhelm and destroy us.
It depends on how you interpret that.
All men are equal
in the eyes of God.That maintains fundamental rights for all.
But as is self-evident, not all are equal in ability, skill, mental acuity, nor wisdom, only in the right to pursue, within legal constraints, the best life they can make for themselves and their progeny, unmolested by tyranny.
Many of those qualifiers have been lost in the rampant misinterpretation of those words, and the conflation of equality and equity has continued and intensified that muddle.
In the sense of raw potential in any given field or pursuit, no, we are not all created equal, but that was not what the Founders were referring to.
