Stephen Stills played at Havana Jam, cerca 1979. 2 albums were released of the various artists who played in Cuba back in those days. He incorporated a Latin beat in a few of his songs., imho. "Carry On" might be an example with that interlude.

Manassas and forgotten Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, particularly with Neil Young doing
better musically with his own solo career, because Manassas based on this album had
something very solid to offer.

Ray Thomas, a founding member of British rock group The Moody Blues, has died at 76, months before the band is due to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

somewhat similar to Marvin Junior---a kid named Theodore Pendergrass. Gamble and Huff had just launched Philadelphia International
Records and landed a big distribution deal with CBS and were hoping to lure the Dells to the label, but Chess (the parent of the Dells'
label Cadet) wouldn't let them go. They caught onto the Blue Notes with Pendergrass moved out from the drum kit and into the lead

In 1968, Elton John tried to commit suicide after relationship problems with a woman, Linda Woodrow. Bernie Taupin, the lyricist, and Baldry[11] found him and Baldry talked him out of marrying her, helping make Elton John comfortable with his sexuality. The song "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" from Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy was about the experience.[12]

(shame Elvis had a lame sense of humour, he'd have brought the house down singing it) . . .

Tom Petty Died of Accidental Overdose, Family Says

"Our family sat together this morning with the Medical Examiner – Coroner’s office and we were informed of their final analysis that Tom Petty passed away due to an accidental drug overdose as a result of taking a variety of medications," the family wrote in a Facebook post Friday.
The Hollywood Reporter reviewed a copy of the Los Angeles coroner's report and confirmed that Petty's death was the result of the accidental mixing of several drugs.
The family writes in the post that Petty had been suffering from pain emphysema, knee problems and a badly fractured hip, which he had been recuperating from while still on tour. On the day he died, his hip had become a "full on break," the family says. "It is our feeling that the pain was simply unbearable and was the cause for his over use of medication," they write.
