The judge cannot do that. Mistrial and worse, for the judge.

Thought it was deliberated here and cited by Dershowitz that a judge somewhere had already successfully switched out a juror who was considered a holdout of sorts.   :shrug:

The judge is way past the point of no return on conducting a legal, ethical trial.

If they vote to convict, it will not stand on appeal. But their political goal will already have been accomplished.

Besides the judge getting rich, will there be any actual legal consequences for the judge being so corrupt?
