Title: Let Him Finish!’: Chris Wallace Briefly Loses Control of His Show After Panel Erupts in Obamacare Argument
Post by: happyg on November 03, 2013, 04:35:16 pm
Chris Wallace appeared to briefly lose control of his show Sunday morning as his two panelists erupted in a spirited argument over President Barack Obama’s signature health care law.

The American Enterprise’s James Capretta was skewering the president on “Fox News Sunday” for not keeping his “if you like your plan, you can keep it” pledge when Ezekiel Emanuel, who helped craft the law, repeatedly interjected.

“Remember the individual—” Emanuel said, in his first attempt to interrupt Capretta.

“Let him finish, please!” Wallace told the Obamacare architect.

But that didn’t seem to quell the lively debate.

“Wait a second, the individual market, before Obamacare, could throw you off when you got a disease. Insurance could rack up your—” Emanuel interjected, again.

“That’s not what we are talking about here,” Capretta said over Emanuel.

“Dr. Emanuel, let him finish,” Wallace then said.

“No!” replied Emanuel.

After the spirited debate concluded, Wallace jokingly scolded Capretta saying “don’t talk while he’s interrupting.”

I saw it, and I don't think Emanuel did OPapaDoc any favors this morning.  He came off as abrasive, closed-minded and obstinate in the face of a problem that has millions of people concerned.  He was like a surgeon in panic  and denial before going into a delicate operation.  It's not exactly what the patient wants to see.

Looks like the left is getting a little nervous. The only good thing about the Obama admin is that the Democrats is truly showing their true facist sekves.

Yet another unelected academic that does not represent anyone other than himself, calling the shots about what will happen to the American people.  The very premise ought to send shivers down the spine, but far too many people have been asleep at the wheel or are directly complicit in carrying this madness out.

Re: "abrasive, closed-minded and obstinate" - one would be hard-pressed to find an Obama Administration official who was not all of those things. Being utterly convinced of one's intellectual and moral superiority, and in the equal stupidity and degeneracy of one's adversaries is a virtual prerequisite for admission.

Wolves cannot help but act like wolves. People can choose whether to be producers, dependents, or predators.

Personally, I believe humans are, by nature, the most cunning animals on earth.  We become producers, dependents or predators based on our perception of self-interest.  This is why we should not be providing incentives for government-dependency.

Our perception of self-interest is preceded by, and dependent upon the volitional nature of human consciousness. Epistemologically speaking, humans alone can choose to perceive what exists and then act in accordance with such perceptions, according to the values they have learned. People who come to believe that they are not or ought not be responsible for their own lives tend to fall prey to those who promise to relieve them of such responsibility. In the process, they make servants of themselves, masters of others, and victims of strangers.

This exchange captured all that is the worst about collectivism. Emanuel was arrogant, dismissive, unwilling to listen to anyone else (just how many times did he interrupt Capretta?), strident, and he made it clear he was perfectly willing to impose HIS vision of the good on everyone else because he knows what is best; better than even whatever others may think is in their best interest.

Listening to this guy is to hear the voice of despotism which constantly lurks under the façade of caring that is Leftism. That he is a vice provost at a major American university is truly a frightening thought. What kinds of intellectual poisons has he injected into his students over the years?

He was on Kelly File a week ago and equally as arrogant. Like I said the Emanuel brothers are cut from the same cloth.
