Elon Musk says Twitter to change logo, adieu to ‘all the birds’
By Reuters
July 23, 2023
Elon Musk said on Sunday he was looking to change Twitter’s logo, tweeting: “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”
In a post on the site at 12:06 a.m. ET, the social media platform’s billionaire owner added: “If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make (it) go live worldwide tomorrow.”
Musk posted an image of a flickering “X”, and later in a Twitter Spaces audio chat replied “Yes” when asked if the Twitter logo will change, adding that “it should have been done a long time ago.”
Under Musk’s tumultuous tenure, since he bought Twitter in October, the company has changed its business name to X Corp, reflecting the billionaire’s vision to create a “super app” like China’s WeChat.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Elon Musk's Twitter officially rebrands, changes iconic blue bird logo to X
Musk previously changed the company, formerly 'Twitter Inc,' to 'X Corp'
By Lawrence Richard FOXBusiness
Twitter officially has a new look.
Early Monday morning, Twitter owner Elon Musk formally changed the iconic blue bird logo on the social media platform to a new black-and-white "X," which he revealed the day before.
The logo was also displayed on Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco early Monday morning. Twitter's official account on the platform also has the name "X."
"Our headquarters tonight," Musk wrote in a tweet with the new "X" logo projected onto the building's exterior.

He's either crazy, or crazy like a fox; I just can't figure out which yet.
-
Sounds like he's planning on expanding what Twitter, Inc., now X Corp, does, the same way Google became a division of Alphabet when Google's execs wanted to do more than offer search and sell users' data.

True, but they didn't get rid of the Google brand, they simply dropped it in as a subsidiary of Alphabet. Musk is effectively abandoning all the branding that's been built up over a significant number of years. I wonder if there's a tax angle here?

It's still a little blue bird on my Twitter feed. Maybe I'm tweeting from another dimension.

It's possible that either the bird hasn't been changed everywhere yet, or else your feed is using a cached copy of the logo image, and the cached version is still the old logo.

I did too until I re-freshed the page...and now I have an X
There is no design of the X.....just a capital X

Yeah, now I have the X. I've been X'ed out. :crying:

Elon is not running twitter well.
-
May the bluebird of twitter happiness fly up the nose of libtards.

Whatever the heck he's up to .... It's working for him.
He's reclaimed the position of richest in the world.

Will tweets still be tweets?
Will users still be twits? (Aw, c'mon now... that was funny)
I dunno... the branding runs pretty deep.

I like Elon and I cannot believe he spent all that cash on Twitter to make it a more equitable place, very generous of him. But his latest changes to Twitter are not good IMO.
