Title: Florida’s voting technology to undergo updates following security concerns
Post by: libertybele on May 24, 2023, 01:06:33 am
**nononono*  No new technology but updating the current technology.  The election may be 'safe' but will the integrity of the election be secure?

Mail in ballots for overseas voters only and back to voting on Election Day only. None of this early voting nonsense.

Florida’s voting technology to undergo updates following security concerns

Florida’s voting equipment is set to undergo a big security health check ahead of the 2024 election. However, a top federal election official says that will not include new technology as some have suggested.

Federal and state election officials were in Fort Myers Tuesday during a big meeting focusing on election security at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort. It was part of the Florida Supervisor of Elections annual conference.

While there have been talks for months now about rolling out new voting technology ahead of the 2024 election, U.S. Election Assistance Commissioner Christy McCormick said her agency would not be adopting new technology for the election, instead she said current technology will get new updates.

“They’re computers. Computers have updates and that’s what we’re doing. We’re updating the standards to make sure we’re updating the technology,” McCormick stated.

She spoke to Florida’s top election officials providing assurance that the 2024 election is safe.........

That would be a good start and we still need to go back to having only one voting day.

The Party has introduced plenty of "new technology" into the election process.
It's best referred to as "the underground election apparatus"...

I SORTA like it,but I prefer a system that REQUIRES voters to show up in person and present an ID for proof of residence.

I can see exceptions being made for serviced members serving outside the state or even the country,as well as for diplomats and embassy people, but not for anyone else.

If you can't show up in person to vote, you shouldn't be able to cast a ballot unless you meet one of the exceptions above.
