INDIANAPOLIS — Vice President Mike Pence routinely used a private email account to conduct public business as governor of Indiana, at times discussing sensitive matters and homeland security issues.
Emails released to The Indianapolis Star in response to a public records request show Pence communicated via his personal AOL account with top advisers on topics ranging from security gates at the governor’s residence to the state’s response to terror attacks across the globe. In one email, Pence’s top state homeland security adviser relayed an update from the FBI regarding the arrests of several men on federal terror-related charges.

Doubt Pence had any think like that as governor of Indiana.

She should have been imprisoned. Secretary of State makes the information that can be hacked criminal. A threat to the whole country. Not that Governors don't also have sensitive material. I am sure they do. Just not at the level of what the Secretary of State is sending.
If the law forbids for Governors he should be punished also according to the law.

Indiana law does not prohibit public officials from using personal email accounts,although the law is generally interpreted to mean that official business conducted on private email must be retained for public record purposes.
Hmmm....pretty well kills the gotcha on this one....

Reporters report, remember when Hillary was caught, we also then got reports,
"Well, Colin Powell used a private email server"; I'm also seeing Jeb Bush did. In dispute is whether Condoleeza Rice did. But for something like this, I might not expect for this to be necessarily kept secret for public figures.

What does the law of Indiana say on the matter? That's the key thing.
I'm not saying it was wise. It definitely wasn't.
But unless Indiana law says don't do that and Pence agreed that he wouldn't do that, then this again is the press trying to play gotcha.
Look, I still don't like or trust Trump. As a matter of fact, and I'm sure this puts me in the minority here, but given that every president more or less does what he is told by the central bankers who truly run the country, I pretty much don't fully trust any president.
That said, the desperation of the media to nitpick anything Republican is a colossal embarrassment to the idea of true journalism.
This perhaps isn't nitpicking. But Trump putting ketchup on his steak and Kellyanne Conway putting her shoes on the oval office couch is.

Unfortunately, it is working. Flynn stepped down, Sessions recused himself and what VP Pence does has yet to be seen. How many cabinet nominations are still waiting for approval? Meanwhile the left will continue to use Russia as their reason for investigations and accusations. They have found an avenue to dismantle this administration, cabinet member by cabinet member and IMHO it's only going to get worse.

If the Trump administration wasn't aware that it would be under the microscope before, it should be painfully obvious by now. The only way to cut off the Cloward-Piven Liberal Media assault is to leave them a few tidbits so trivial that the average American tunes them out.
While that might be good, it's dangerous for America, too.
Better yet, quit feeding the beast, quit fanning the flames, clean up the leakers and Dem moles throughout the bureaucracy, and get on with running the country. Sit up straight, like your grandma told you, and play by the rules.
Being consumed by tempests in teapots will not make America ready for the typhoon coming, but sure distract from getting the job done.
