It’s something that many people do without giving it a second thought, but if you jaywalk in China , you could be publicly shamed.
Facial recognition technology is being used in several Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Shenzhen, which can spot people jaywalking, and post their photo and ID to a huge billboard.
Writer Matthew Brennan tweeted a shocking video of the strange system, although it remains unclear where it was filmed.

It’s not so much in China, it’s a matter of time when it comes to a place where you live. Sometimes I think we have too much technology

I quite agree.

In some major Chinese cities, jaywalking are so much a part of the culture and daily life that there wouldn't be enough billboards to display the pix and names. It's such a problem and danger where my daughter lives that barriers emplaced to block jaywalking to cross busy major streets.
