DeGeneres posted and read aloud Eckert’s hand-scrawled “Dear Soldier” note in front of her studio audience who were frequently touched by details of Eckert’s pay-it-forward actions.

The host even got in on the acts of kindness, presenting Eckert with a the LEGO Movie Videogame he mentioned he wanted and a package for a free visit to the Legoland amusement park in southern California.

DeGeneres also presented Shutterfly’s $20,000 check toward Snowball Express, an organization that helps children whose parents died during military service, and told Dailey that he and his wife were headed to Oahu, Hawaii, for six nights in a four-star hotel courtesy of Expedia.

In addition, Highland Capital Management announced a $1 million challenge grant for Snowball Express, noting that it will match up to $1 million donated to the charity until Memorial Day, reported WSPD-AM in Toledo, Ohio.

Myles found a $20 bill laying in an Ohio Cracker Barrel parking lot; and instead of pocketing the money, he wrote a heartfelt note to a solider he spotted entering the restaurant who reminded him of his father who was killed in Iraq.

“Dear Soldier — my dad was a soldier. He’s in heaven now,” the note said. “I found this 20 dollars in the parking lot when we got here. We like to pay it forward in my family. It’s your lucky day! Thank you for your service. Myles Eckert, a gold star kid.”

Myles’ mother Tiffany was a guest on WSPD radio the morning of the “Ellen” show and had this to say:

Here’s the clip of Eckert and Dailey’s appearance on the “Ellen” show:

She is. Funny as all get out, too.

Young Mr. Eckert is rather impressive.
