Pretty much every time they get the majority.  Name a Republican Speaker that was worth a crap.  Gingrich came closer than normal to a conservative, before he flamed out in disgrace with Helmet Head with the crazy eyes.  Even he caved to Clinton before 1995 was out.

The problem Gingrich faced is the same one faced by every Speaker: just because the Speaker is the head of the conference doesn't mean he can control the way all of his members vote.  The more conservative an agenda that is pushed, the more likely you are to bleed GOP votes from the moderate wing of the party.

Tip O'Neill didn't want to pass most of Reagan's agenda, but blue dog Democrats crossed over to support it so he couldn't stop it.

Actress Mia Farrow Praises Stormy Daniels as ‘A Strong Woman’: Nothing Wrong With Being a Hooker

Alana Mastrangelo 8 May 2024

Actress Mia Farrow took to social media on Wednesday to declare porn star Stormy Daniels “a strong woman who may not want to appear to be weak or a victim” while she testifies against former President Donald Trump.

“Stormy is a strong woman who may not want to appear to be weak or a victim,” Farrow wrote in an X post, adding, “but what she described seemed very like a sexual assault.”

In the comment section, an X user wrote that Daniels “screws for money.”

“One thing guys know: you can’t trust a word that comes out of a hooker’s mouth,” the X user added, to which Farrow defended the porn star, arguing, “She has a husband and a child. She made adult films.”

“That doesn’t mean she is ‘a hooker.’ Not that there is anything wrong with that either,” the Reckless actress added.

Unless enough Republicans walk off the job right now.  But after the election there's a good chance we'll lose the House.

Agreed.

If you say so.   *****rollingeyes*****

If you have any evidence that didn't happen, I'd be happy to see it.  Or, I can repost all the stuff I've posted in the past to show that it did happen.  Including the time-stamped video of the actual debate and votes held on the objections in evening/early morning of January 6 and 7.

The NY Times is trying to assist Biden however they can.  You don't need a medical degree to know Biden has dementia.  Fred Trump's children made a fake office for him, to make him believe he was still in charge ... and I have to wonder if that will happen to Donald before long.

Lucky dog. Whenever I brought a stray home, my parents wouldn't let me keep it.

62 years.

At times I think I'm the eldest on the forum. Thanks for reminding me that I'm not. Next year (2025) will be 60 years for me.

I went to my 20th, and discovered there  was no change from High School.   If you didn't belong to a clique then, the reunions suck now.

I've been to about half of my reunions and plan to attend my next one. I was part of the clique in school. It was very large and contained cliques within the clique, but there wasn't any animosity between them. They broke down largely according to school activities. Band kids, eggheads, jocks, who's dating whom, who went to elementary/jr. high together, etc. The further out our reunions were from our graduation year, the more the alumni began to mix and mingle without regard to cliques. So many interesting people when you reach out. I've changed. They've changed. Life usually causes people to establish new priorities. On the flip side, I've eliminated certain "friends" from the clique who proved to be shallow and dishonest.

Crazy how the newspapers and the media are constantly talking about the charges against Trump are all related to election day. Even they know it is all a fraud and are giving themselves away by talking about Trump charges in relation to the election.

It has nothing to do with "Law" or "justice". All of these so-called 'charges' are all about election interference. Whether they mean to or not, even the Democrat press is admitting this.

Not guilty or innocent. Those things do not matter. Will Trump face charges before the election is the single most important question on all their lips.

The largest newspaper in Atlanta is putting the writing on the wall for Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Moments after the state Court of Appeals agreed to hear a challenge on Willis’ qualifications to continue prosecuting former President Donald Trump, a reporter for the Atlanta Constitution-Journal wrote up a story quoting experts who predict that the Democrat’s case may never be resolved before Election Day. The case has already been sidelined for months by revelations of her romantic relationship with former subordinate Nathan Wade. Now that an appeal has been granted, Willis will lose more weeks or months in her rush to prosecute Trump before Election Day.
