Michael Cohen resumes testifying
By Kyle Schnitzer

Cohen is taking questions from prosecutors about phone records. Cohen testified that he never altered the recording and the recording was cut off because he received an incoming call.

Trump's team has suggested that the call was doctored.

Meanwhile, Trump has spent time reading through a stack of pages as Cohen continues testifying.

Unlike Stormy, I believe he really cared about/for Karen and when all was said and done, she was all but screwed in the end, along with Pecker.
  Take note Trumpers.

Joe and his team know how to win wars.   Look at his success with the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Before that as O'bummers 2nd hand man in 2011 they withdrew America’s much-scaled-down troop presence in Iraq; the former VP had declared Iraq to be “sovereign, stable, and self-reliant,” and predicted that Iraq “could be one of the great achievements of this administration.” Their decision sent Iraq spiraling into sectarian violence and civil war, allowing Iran to expand its influence and opening the way for the rise of the jihadist group ISIS.

So as you can see Joe knows.

Court takes a mid-morning break

The jury has been excused and Michael Cohen has stepped down from the stand after the first part of his testimony.

After detailing the hush money deal made to kill Karen McDougal's affair story, he is likely to be asked about what led to the payments to Stormy Daniels.

Trump, defenders show up in force ahead of Cohen testimony

Former President Donald Trump was joined by a bevy of high-profile supporters Monday morning outside the Manhattan courtroom, where the NY v. Trump trial will hear from key witness Michael Cohen.

As Trump spoke to the media early Monday morning, Republican supporters such as Ohio Sen. JD Vance, New York Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville, his son Eric Trump, and others were seen standing behind the 45th president for what is anticipated to be an action-packed day in court.

Trump's comments ahead of court Monday focused on his argument the case is a "baseless, politically motivated prosecution" promoted by the Biden administration, while highlighting a recent poll showing him leading Biden in key battleground states.

"The New York Times just came out with a poll that shows us leading everywhere by a lot. This is the cover story. And I think you'll find it very interesting, but I'm sure you've all read it. Leading in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Georgia and Nevada. Nevada, we are leading actually by 12 points, which is generally a Democrat state," Trump said.

Cohen secretly records his client [Trump]

As a lawyer....  no less.   Cohen is making Saul Goodman look like Thurgood Marshall.

Reggie; Listen up everybody, this fat fool is not what he appears to be!
He is a DA, a supposed 'civil servant', but he is mysteriously worth around 45 million dollars.
There is certainly something going on which is not what it appears to be.

Court hears secret audio Cohen made of a Trump phone call in 2016

The court hears a secret audio recording Cohen made of a conversation about the Karen McDougal story.

The recording was secretly made on September 6th 2016 by Cohen as he was in discussions with the National Enquirer about buying up the rights to the story from Ms McDougal, who was Playboy Playmate of the Year in 1998.

Before speaking to Cohen, Trump can be heard talking to somebody called ‘Pam’.

He says: ‘Maybe it would be better if you didn’t come. Because of this. It’s so false what they’re saying. Such b*******’.

It is unclear what Trump is referring to.

Cohen enters and says: ‘I need to open up a company for the transfer of all of that info regarding our friend, David, you know, so that -- I’m going to do that right away’.

According to prosecutors, this was a company Cohen was setting up to pay the $150,000 back to the Enquirer, which would pay McDougal for her story.

In the end he never did pay the money.

The ‘our friend David’ referred to David Pecker, who at the time was publisher of the Enquirer.

Cohen continues: ‘ I’ve spoken to Allen Weisselberg about how to set the whole thing up,’ referring to the man who at the time was chief financial officer of The Trump Organization, Trump’s real estate business.

Trump replies: ‘So, what do we got to pay for this? 150?’

Cohen replies: ‘Yes. And it’s all the stuff’.

On the tape there is crosstalk between the two men and it is unclear who Trump is referring to when he says: ‘Maybe he gets hit by a truck’.

Cohen says: ‘Correct. So, I’m all over that. And, I spoke to Allen about it,when it comes time for the financing, which will be…’

Cutting in, Trump says: ‘Listen, what financing?’

When Cohen says they will ‘have to pay him something’, Trump cuts in: ‘Pay with cash’.

To reassure him, Cohen says: ‘No, no, no, no, no, I got it’.

CNN’s latest coverage of the presidential election has become the news equivalent of a five-alarm fire.

Hours after longtime host Fareed Zakaria begged President Joe Biden on his Sunday show to “turn things around,” analyst Harry Enten broke down the latest poll numbers from NYT/Sienna showing the Democratic incumbent badly training former President Donald Trump in key swing states that are expected to decide the election. Among them: Trump leads Biden by 9% in Georgia, ground zero to the disputed 2020 presidential results and two stunning U.S. Senate wins by Democrats that year. Arizona, another close loss for Trump four years ago, now favors him by 6% among likely voters.

“These numbers are an absolute disaster… 13 in Nevada? My goodness God!” said Enten. “No Democrat has lost that state since John Kerry lost it back in 2004. Results for Biden were no much better among the Great Lakes states where Trump leads Biden by 3% in Pennsylvania, 1% in Wisconsin, and remains just 1% behind in Michigan. However, “this they can work with,” he added before pointing back to the Sun Belt results. “This the Donald Trump campaign absolutely loves, and it looks like a lot of other polling.”
