Title: MY observations on the debate
Post by: sneakypete on September 30, 2020, 03:29:29 am
Not getting into who won,who lost,why didn't so and so do such and such,this is purely MY opinion on how each of them did,and if they accomplished their goals in this debate.

Slow Joe

 Biden did 100 percent x a Gazillion times better than *I*  expected him to do. He was completely lucid,and this is the first appearance of his I have ever seen that would allow me to say that. It was almost like there was a sane person hiding in his body.

Yeah,he lost his cool a couple of times,like when he called the sitting President of the US a clown,but he recovered VERY quickly,smiled and went on in a calm and reasonable voice to babble the lies he had been rehearsing.

He didn't even melt down like almost everybody else on the planet would have done when Trump told truths about both his sons that he didn't want told.

THIS is the advantage being a professional politician for 40+ years gave him,and he used it well.
Debating in public for Biden is like playing Golf for Trump,and Trump,as a career businessman isn't used to debating anyone. He is used to giving orders. Advantage,Biden.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Trump screwed up. You can NOT let your opponent show everybody all over the world in television what a babbling senile fool he really is UNLESS YOU GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO TALK!

In MY opinion,what he SHOULD have done was let Biden babble away to his hearts content until his time ends,and then carpet bomb him with facts proving the lies he was telling,as well as posing questions about his methods and who he was working with.

Trump did good what few times he was making points FOR Trump,but he spend WAAAY too much time talking about "Biden Bad!" that SHOULD have been spent talking about how and why "Trump Good!"  Again,this is directly related to each man's level of political experience. Debates are new to Trump,and it is all Biden has ever done.

And keep in mind I am an avid supporter of Trump as you consider my evaluation of the performance of both me.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The good news here is Trump DID score some major points he wanted to score,even if they were diminished a little by the other things he said and how he acted.

Even mo betta good news is that this was just the first debate,and there are two more. When you add that to the FACT that Trump is not a stupid man,but he IS a man who knows how to "sell" his ideas when making a pitch,things will be looking up for him after the next debate because he is sure to understand where and why he screwed up this time,and go out there on the stage to "sell" Donald Trump,not defame Joe Biden.

Let Joe Biden defame himself. He is very good at it after 40 + years of practice,so just "hand him the ball and let him run with it.

MY thoughts and critiques,and worth every dime they cost you.

PLEASE feel free to offer your own reviews of the debate tonight,as well as to tell me where and how I am wrong.

I promise to not clog this thread up with reply's and make it "about me". It's not about me. It's about Trump,and how we can help him understand how he can do better next time.

IF I have any comments I think I need to make in reply to anyone's criticism or praise (ROFLMAO!),I will do it via PM's.

I now turn this thread over to you.

Sneaky...I am sorry, but calling the president a clown is not a sign of a lucid LEADER.  It is a sign of someone with advanced senility lashing out because they had no control.

Also, perhaps you did not see it, but he was receiving coaching from someone in the audience, I suspect Jill, and I thought that made him look extremely weak.

His refusal to answer questions, i.e. packing the court, etc showed his inability to stand for anything.  What the hell does Biden stand for?  Certainly not law and order with his declaration that Antifa is a belief.

Biden looked like an old man that came out of his rocking chair for a long night.  He looked weak, even feeble.

And had Trump allowed him to speak, I think we would have seen one senile gaff after another.

It does not matter what Trump does/does not, say or do, as his worshippers will defend,
excuse and rationalize each & every action and word of his; no matter how absurd.

@jafo2010  I may be wrong,but I thought he was looking at/reading the monitor.

As for Jill,I have no idea how she could help him from the audience.

If there is a second debate, much less a third debate, both candidates should be placed in a soundproof booth.  And when Biden tries to talk over Trump then his microphone is shut off.  And when Trump tries to talk over Biden his microphone is shut off.  Maybe then we might actually get something out of them.

Oh I don't know, seemed to me Biden is just dumb enough to trigger the Boss and he got what he asked for.  Trump has a record, Biden has 40 plus years of nothing.  It was just live comedy entertainment.

The President did come off rather badly imho.  It was not necessary to be the bully. He was angry and belligerent; possibly a reaction to the whole tax conflagration.  I was hoping this side of him would be controlled but obviously it is part of his personality.  He acted as if he were cornered by lashing out and not observing the debate format.  Wallace could not handle the temperament of the exchange from the get go and was ignored.

Biden was Biden as Trump was Trump.  The two are polar opposites in background and temper.  But frankly a "bully" overpowering a tepid candidate in Joe, does not look good.  Let Biden speak and put his foot in his mouth as he's bound to do.

The Republican party could have been better served. Many simply might choose not to vote.

I share your sentiment with one exception.  The true narrative that the media in general is out to get Trump got a huge boost last night.  That intangible alone may have made this thing a wash in the end.  Problem is, is that if the polls are correct DJT needed more than a wash.

HE did. Donald Trump is president.

Does anyone really think that the evil possessing the Washington establishment would just roll over in the face of simple truths and well mannered disagreements? Or that draining the swamp would be polite?

No. If anything the quarrel will get worse and even uglier and will take a great many Trumpian administrations to root out. But, the beneficiaries will be our grandchildren and generations to come.

The Right’s battle against the government behemoth won’t end with Trump’s retirement from politics. If we’re lucky, maybe the future will see many other versions of Trump in the White House; some more refined, but just as committed to the ideals of the American founding and America first.

I agree. The other good thing about Jordan is he speaks in complete sentences.

If Trump had spoken in complete sentences at Charlottesville, he would have said “there were fine people on both sides”...of the issue of removing the civil war monument—rather than how it was portrayed as supporting white supremacists, a small group of which were present at the demonstration.

Unfortunately Trump’s halting speech pattern gave the media the ammunition they needed to deliberately misrepresent the intent and meaning of his statement, and get away with it.

@Jazzhead

Good plan!

Add holding your breath until you turn blue while stamping your little feets is sure to help,too.

Why do people virtue signal?   As if they don't 'stink'?   'Too good'...to vote the correct way ,  to save our country.

I don't understand...WHY..people WANT polished, lying, professional politician's over GOOD WORKS.  I don't speak well, but when young as a worker,  I did the work of two people.  Always wanting to put me in a management position.  I didn't want that. I just wanted to get the work done quickly, so I could go home and not have time 'drag'.

My, my, another classy retort.
Well, it's hardly surprising given
your romantic attachment to ignorance.

Who is riding the Mod 4 Car.  I thought it was retired because of a bad muffler bearing and a spurting blinker leak?

We ended up junking the first Mod 4 car after some clown wrapped it around a fire hydrant.  This is a new model, with upgraded chrome bumpers.

It's supposed to.  That's where the trolls are that require hitting with the front bumper.  That's why we went with the chrome bumper upgrade.
