Coronavirus - Biggest World Crisis since World War II??
I've seen this analogy made in a few places. Maybe if I see one of the articles, I will post it.
Other big crisis since World War II for me, would be and in no certain order:
9/11
Cuban Missile Crisis
Vietnam War/ Korean War
Cold War
It's really subjective and maybe I'm missing some but it's interesting to contemplate.
-
The Cold War as a whole seems likely to have been more consequential as an event, but it took place in such slow-motion that I don't think it qualifies as a crisis.
-
I'm a "Don't know." I don't have sufficient data right now.

It is far too early to determine the full impact of Covid-19.
If it is resolved favorably, it could be smaller than the Cold War, Vietnam, Korea etc.
OTOH if it is merely the opening battle of a War with China (trade, virus, econmic) it might exceed WWII, the Cold War.

What, 25 years of the constant threat of nuclear annihilation gets pretty 'normal' after a while, but the possible consequences of a screwup were a mite nastier than the likely outcome of this virus, even at its worst.

That's about the size of it.

It's a hard call, when all is said and done, I'm sure some "famines" have reeked more havoc but a famine is say, located mainly to one country.
Korea is just that area but many countries were involved in that. Same for Vietnam as far as that goes.
But I hear the idea tossed around.
-
It could cause the biggest economic bloodbath since the Great Depression. Or it could not. The choice is up to our leaders.

Partly. Part of that choice is up to us. Keep those dollars going around your community, buy locally, support local businesses, mom and pops, and the local economies will recover faster, they are the foundation of the big one.

"net"
I believe it is up to the final "net" severity of the virus impact.
This not finished in China, So. Korea, Italy, Iran. the US etc.
