Not sure what happened either ... but glad the forum is up and running! :beer:

All the info for the forum are stored in databases in a format called MySql. One of them crashed and I was lucky to find a way to repair it.

Well, I have neither Facebook nor Twitter, so I was out of the loop, so to speak. But I guessed it had to be a malfunction or scheduled maintenance -- except as to the latter, I think the mods would have warned us.
Anywho -- glad the forum is back. I miss yunz guys.

mysqlcheck -r, or 'repair table smf_sessions;' in mysql. Of course, if you don't know the password for one of the database users you need to restart mysql with --skip-grant-tables.
I tried screaming at the monitor, but I guess the messages didn't go through.

I suspect an AT/NT war to break out before the night is through, even if I have to start it, so definitely a playback loop.

That's pretty much what I did. Thankfully it worked. You know MySql?

I'm not a DBA by any means, but I've worked with it where necessary enough to know my way around.

@InHeavenThereIsNoBeer
Would you be willing to PM Free Vulcan or me your external email address so we can contact you if we have another problem? Serious request from Management. I'm compiling a list for Nancy.
