Jurors smiled at 'spanking' comment, but kept straight face when Daniels described sexual encounter with Trump

A couple of the trial jurors flashed smiles earlier when Stormy Daniels described spanking Donald Trump with a magazine inside Trump's hotel suite.

But the panelists kept a straight face while Daniels described having sex with Trump later that night.

Daniels appeared to show discomfort when describing the sexual encounter, and at times nervously brushed her blond hair back with her left hand.

She told jurors that "there was an imbalance of power for sure" in the room with Trump, but that "I was not threatened verbally or physically."

She was then asked whether she said "no" at any point during the encounter.

"I didn't say anything," she replied.

Stormy Daniels appears to be staring at Trump while testifying

Daniels' eyes appear to be leaning right as she testifies in the direction of Donald Trump — not at the lectern where Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Susan Hoffinger is standing.

Meanwhile, Trump appears to be looking forward and is slouched back in his chair.

Daniels is recounting about the time when Trump introduced her to another friend of his, Playboy model Karen McDougal.

Eric Trump tweets from courtroom: Prosecutors 'giddy by this salacious show'
By Kaydi Pelletier

Eric Trump, who accompanied his father to the trial today, tweeted from the courtroom that he's "attempting to figure out how any of this garbage from 20 years ago relates to 'legal' bills submitted by a long time personal attorney being booked as a “legal” expense," as Stormy Daniels testifies.

Judge scolds prosecution about 'unnecessary' details during Stormy Daniels testimony

Judge Merchan scolded prosecutors about the "degree of detail" they were going into during their questioning of Stormy Daniels.

“The degree of detail that we’re going into here is just unnecessary,” Merchan told ADA Susan Hoffinger.

Merchan later also admonished Daniels, telling her to: "Please keep the answers short, just listen to the question, and answer the question."

Since Biden is the Commander in Chief of the military, and he defends the treatment of vets, why doesn't he get his medical care through the VA?

I wonder how much more Stormy will owe Trump in legal fees after this.

Agree....

Except at least in slick willie's resume' he bonked a subordinate, and likely raped a woman.

Biden administration defends treatment of veterans despite IG report
By Casey Harper | The Center Square May 5, 2024

Department of Veterans Affairs
(The Center Square) – The U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs pledged to protect veterans and address any problems identified by federal watchdogs after an Inspector General report raised concerns about the physicians employed by the VA.

Press Secretary Terrence Hayes responded to an inquiry from The Center Square about recent IG reports. The reports in question said that the healthcare wing of the VA was paying doctors to care for veterans even after those doctors had been disqualified for safety reasons.

“At VA, our mission is to make sure Veterans get the world-class health care they deserve from caring, qualified professionals – and we will never settle for anything less,” Hayes told The Center Square. “Inspector General reviews like this help us make VA health care better, and we are already taking action to address the OIG’s recommendations.”

As The Center Square previously reported, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., raised questions with Secretary of Department of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough  about the treatment of veterans.

I agree with the other posters....

This case has no chance of beating a Trump appeal, no matter how sleazy and biased the jurors are.   This whole exercise was for maximum embarrassment.......  nothing more.

Stormy Daniels tells the court about having sex with Donald Trump

The prosecutor asks Stormy Daniels if she did end up having sex with Donald Trump on the bed?

‘Yes,’ Daniels says.

‘No,' Daniels says.

She recalls it being brief.

Daniels remembers getting dressed and that it was ‘absolutely dark outside.’

She testifies that her hands were shaking so hard she was having a hard time with the buckles on her shoes.

She did not say no at any time.

‘I didn’t say anything at all,' Daniels says.

She remembers taking a cab back.

‘I felt ashamed that I didn’t stop it, that I didn’t say no,' Daniels says.

Bernie Sanders wants to raise your prescription costs
By Dr. Ben Tapper

Responding to a recent Yale study, which found that drug manufacturer Novo Nordisk is selling the popular type two diabetes drug Ozempic, which costs less than $5 to produce, for nearly $1,000, Sen. Bernie Sanders recently called on major drug companies to knock it off and stop price-gouging.

Unfortunately, however, behind the scenes, he’s quietly working to allow them to raise costs even higher.

In a recent press release, Sen. Sanders said, “The American people are sick and tired of paying, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs while the pharmaceutical industry enjoys huge profits,” and he made it clear that he’s using all the authority vested in him as the chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions to demand the companies in question stop this racket.

Sen. Sanders provided a great statement, and I bet it riled his populist base of supporters. But his words are no different than those of the Wall Street-aligned government regulators who promised to hold the actors who exploited the American people during the 2008 recession accountable. They ring hollow and then some.

Despite talking a great game against Big Pharma, Sen. Sanders is sponsoring legislation to help the drugmakers raise costs.

Big Pharma has spent millions lobbying his colleagues to support and pass his bill, the Pharmacy Benefit Manager Reform Act, which will add regulations that make it more difficult for the private sector to negotiate better drug pricing deals with manufacturers.  ...
