Good vs evil

There was a memo that was circulated to Joe's transition team with the goal being to attack religion and Christianity.

Next -- the SOB will be attacking churches or trying to silence the pastor or priests' sermons. IIRC that has been tried before.

Clarence Thomas Has No Reason To Recuse From Any J6 Cases, And It’s Not Even Close

BY: MARK PAOLETTA
APRIL 18, 2024

These attacks have nothing to do with ethics concerns and everything to do with shrinking the court to let leftist justices decide these cases.

The left’s intolerance toward an independent Supreme Court and its gaslighting tactics are on full display in the latest calls for Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse from the presidential immunity case the court will hear next week. MoveOn.org is even raising money off this absurd claim to pressure Justice Thomas to recuse. These thuggish tactics won’t work.

President Trump is presenting the argument that he is immune from prosecution for any official acts he took as president, including those related to the 2020 election integrity challenges and the events of Jan. 6,2021. The left demands that Justice Thomas recuse himself from this case and all Jan. 6-related cases because he has an alleged conflict of interest arising from his wife’s activities regarding the post-2020 election integrity challenges and the events of Jan. 6. But Ginni Thomas’ activities raise no conflicts of interest requiring Justice Thomas’ recusal from these cases, and it’s not even a close call.

Dishonest and Unfounded Attacks

Ginni Thomas is a longtime political activist. Like millions of Americans, she raised questions about fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election. The attacks on her, including in a recent piece by Professor Gary Simson, a longtime Justice Thomas hater, are dishonest and misleading.

Hey, Dov, are you trying to assert that what happened to innocent, individual Jews 80 years ago is equivalent to the questioning the consequences of the actions of a powerful and independent nation state?

Now there's a nice whitewashing of the Holocaust.

It wasn't something that happened to "individual" Jews.  It was Jews collectively being targeted for extermination.   An effort to wipe them out completely as a people.

Quote
In 1938, Jews did not have a loud, clear and perpetual voice in the global arena.

The voice they have today is one that generally is shouted down internationally by widespread hatred of the Jews as people, usually (but not exclusively) by many of the nearly two billion Muslims worldwide.

Quote
In 1938, Jews did not have a "Nation State of the Jewish People".

If the thing that makes the situation for Jews better than it was in 1938 is them having a strong, independent state, then aren't they 100% correct in not budging on maintaining the integrity of that state?  1938 is still relevant because it shows what can happen to Jews when they don't have a secure, stable Jewish state.  That's why their refusal to compromise on that is reasonable.

I've always been amused by people whose contribution to a debate is that they support "having honest discussions" as an alternative to the status quo, but refuse to get specific about what exactly substantive  positions they actually support.

@Wingnut

They may have something right in saying that Caucasian seniors are potential domestic terrorists...because I'm certainly getting fed up with all this bullsh*t.   happy77

If The GOP Loses Its House Majority, It's Speaker Johnson's Fault
John Daniel Davidson

If the House GOP loses its majority next year, it might well be because Speaker Mike Johnson sold out Republican voters by failing to fund border security while working with Democrats to funnel billions more taxpayer dollars to Ukraine — after he repeatedly said he wouldn’t do precisely that.

Of course, it won’t take much to lose the Republican majority, which will narrow to 217-213 once Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wis., retires later this month. (Gallagher, whose last day was set for Friday, has said he’ll delay his retirement to help ensure Johnson’s Ukraine funding passes this weekend.)

November is not that far off, and between President Joe Biden’s fragile health and declining mental capacity, and Donald Trump’s legal (lawfare) troubles, the presidential election is very much up in the air. It won’t take much, in one direction or the other, to tip the balance of power in the House.

But the truth is, Johnson and Republican House leaders will deserve to lose their slim majority if they go through with their plan to enact the Biden administration’s agenda and send billions to Ukraine and Israel while refusing to do anything about the ongoing border crisis.
