Restaurants in the nation's capital will close their doors Thursday to support a protest called "a day without immigrants."
NPR reports that several eateries in Washington, D.C. — including five owned by Spanish-born chef José Andrés, who is involved in a legal dispute with President Donald Trump — will take part in the social media campaign that carries the hashtag #ADayWithoutImmigrants.

Funny thing though: Trumps immigration order largely applied to muslims, but most restaurant immigrants are from Latin America, not Muslim countries.

No, but I listened to a couple of interviews on radio today in the car...with restaurant owners...chefs...organizing the protest, etc..
The REAL reason they're not happy is that their entire customer/client base is ethnic and/or illegal, as are the total staff.
When the radio host asked if the workers were being compensated, he said they all acquired sick/personal time.
IOW....no!
