Reportedly the moderators can only be from CBS News, ABC News, CNN, or Telemundo.

Ask yourself why Biden would limit the choices to those four outlets that are overwhelmingly biased?

I would imagine they would be done remotely, in case Biden goes off the rails (or railing).

I read that the shooter is a 71 y/o "progressive" poet.

A poet?!??

I still like watching Baseball, and the Astros, in particular.
Blanco was a bright spot (until last night).
Tucker is hitting like crazy.
Altuve, Alvarez, Pena, Diaz, Dubon, all playing well.
Bregman had back-to-back games showing he is coming around on offense, defense was never an issue with him.
Fun to see Loperfido get called up.
We seem to give up games early and not come back, or give them up late with our "vaunted" 7th-8th-9th inning guys.

Mrs. GrouchoTex and I have annual "Silver Stars"  package to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys AAA games, every Tuesday home game.
I keep hearing the "experts" say the the Astros farm system isn't very good,.
Yet, Loperfido, Diaz, Meyers, Pena, JP France, Arrighetti, Hunter Brown, have all come out of there since 2021 or even more recently.
Okay the 3 pitchers mentions have to get better, but I think Brown and Arrighett will, and have shown recent signs of it.

All is not lost.
It may be the end of the dominance, 2015 is when it started, 2017 ito 2023 it was in high gear, but they will still be in the mix.
2015/2024 is pretty good run.
29 other baseball teams in the league would love to say the same.

Biden on 2nd debate with Trump: ‘I’ll bring my plane … I plan on keeping it for another four years’
by Brett Samuels - 05/15/24 12:12 PM ET

President Biden and former President Trump on Thursday agreed to hold a second debate, on Sept. 10 hosted by ABC News.

The two candidates had already accepted an invitation to attend a CNN debate on June 27, and both confirmed on social media they planned to attend the ABC debate in September.

I’ve also received and accepted an invitation to a debate hosted by ABC on Tuesday, September 10th,” Biden posted on X. “Trump says he’ll arrange his own transportation. I’ll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years.”

Biden, of course, is referring to the presidential jet, Air Force One.

“It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th.”

It marked a whirlwind few hours that started with Biden’s campaign publicly proposing two debates in June and September and ended with both candidates agreeing to a date and host.

ABC News had planned to host a GOP primary debate in New Hampshire, but it was canceled after Trump and Nikki Haley said they would not attend. Martha Raddatz of ABC co-moderated one of the 2016 presidential debates; the network did not host a debate in 2020.

The Biden campaign earlier Wednesday called for two presidential debates, one in June and one in September, going around the Commission on Presidential Debates, the organization that has arranged the showdowns dating back to 1988.

Biden campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon suggested working with outlets that hosted GOP primary debates in 2016 and Democratic primary debates in 2020 to avoid any perceptions of bias.

Inflation hits 20 percent under Biden, pushing small businesses to the brink
by Alfredo Ortiz, opinion contributor - 05/15/24 9:45 AM ET

On Wednesday, the country hit a sad milestone: Inflation under President Biden hit 20 percent. The dollar’s value has plummeted under his watch. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also confirmed that the consumer price index is resurgent and growing faster than average wages. Combined with weak GDP growth, this data shows the U.S. economy is reentering stagflation.

Historic inflation is causing declining living standards and a cost-of-living crisis. Under Biden’s presidency, grocery prices have increased by nearly one-third and gas has risen by 50 percent. It feels like every daily convenience — from a turkey sandwich to some handyman help — has increased by 50 percent or more.

Yet Biden seems entirely out of touch with this reality. In a recent CNN interview, he responded to these inflation numbers by claiming, “They have the money to spend.” In reality, it now costs the average American family $12,000 more to maintain the same living standards as before President Biden took office.

Biden also tried to deflect from this consumer pain by claiming he inherited high inflation. Fact-check: Inflation was 1.4 percent when he took office.

The situation is especially bad for small businesses. “Customers that used to come in every week now come in every three weeks,” says Joe Germanotta, a New York restauranteur. This statement reflects what I’m hearing from small businesses nationwide. When people are faced with $20 for a burger or $10 for dry cleaning, they choose to eat and do laundry at home instead.

California / Re: California’s Workers Now Want $30 Minimum Wage
« Last post by GtHawk on Today at 04:28:00 pm »
Wonder how popular $15 Big Macs will be in CA?
I don't think they are very popular at their current price point, you can bet that every fast food location that has been forced to pay the current $20 minimum is fast tracking robotics, order kiosks as well as AI or remote, as in India, order taking and I can see a location get down to less than five employees a shift, especially if they completely eliminate their dining areas and go full take out. This is the result of forcing a $20 minimum on chains with 60 or more locations in California...for now, you know the socialists won't stop until they can kill every mom and pop business in the state and drive every possible employer out that remains.

No disrespect intended in the following reply, @Cyber.

That there are "more GOP than Dems there" is of little actual importance now.

What IS important is that the leftist/communists have seized control, and are using the power they have to solidify their grip.

As the saying goes, "the proof is in the pudding" (or the actual outcome of the election, whether The Party's election apparatus was used or not -- it DOES seem to be used there).

And "the puddin'" is that the important elections are largely being controlled by The Party down there. That is evident and irrefutable over the last 2 election cycles.

For all practical purposes, that makes Arizona "a blue state" now.

It will CEASE being a blue state when the Republican party (in which you are influential) does something to "seize back" the power The Party now holds.

It's merely obtuse speculation on my part, but I don't see how you're going to "get that back" by way of the ballot box. The last two election cycles have proven that.

BTW... I, too, live in a blue state.
The Republicans/traditional-minded folks will NEVER "get this state back", short of revolution or a total societal collapse.

As I said once to a friend, you can be "on the right side" here in CT, but by remaining here you are pretty much assenting political control to the left.
That's "the way it is" here.

I predict it may soon become your fate there, too.
