Title: Flooding on Paria River above Grand Canyon 8/19/12 (Monsoon Flooding)

The desert is usually dry and this river has been running dry all summer long -- we are in the throes of one of the best monsoon summers in many a year right now and someone got these pics of the flooding on the Paria River above the Grand Canyon on the 19th of August

We are flooding here too! news showed Idiots trying to drive on the interstates surrounding Vegas, with water almost to their doors :thud:

My sis-in-law in Henderson keeps posting on FB about it.  Says her yard is under water now.

well half my patio was under water a bit ago but it is running off now.
My friend's backyard in the NW is a pool now.

It's getting darker and darker here, no wind, but I will be shocked if we don't have a major downpour this afternoon... they just cleared our streets from the storm last week....

One good thing R4 is your runs into Lake Mead.. every foot helps Mead at this point...

Here is some youtube from the big storm that hit us on July13th.. we had one person killed crossing a wash (NEVER do that) and some people reported a guy got washed off his motorcycle and people looked on in shock as the motorcycle swept past their homes heading downhill (everything is downhill here) with the guy being swept along behind it.. finally someone got in their car and followed downhill until he stopped and picked the poor guy up...

Tom just called and said it is bad on Wigwam near Pecos. Said right lane is flooded.
