While President Trump was bad-mouthed left and right over the course of Sen. John McCain's five-day funeral and remembrance ceremonies, he actually did the former senator and war hero a solid.
McCain's body was flown to Washington, D.C., on an aircraft that was approved by Trump. "The late Arizona senator's casket was loaded onto one of the jets known as Air Force 2 -- which is often designated for the VP or First Lady's travel," TMZ reported.
McCain's family was also flown on the same plane out of Phoenix on Thursday afternoon after McCain's body lay in state in the Arizona capitol building.

Seriously, those planes have to get a certain amount of flight time to keep them tip-top. If not transporting anyone, I suspect that they fly to here or there just to keep any observers guessing.

Correct! Is this fiasco over yet? The traitor needs to be p!ssed on, not respected. Most military in his time in Vietnam, said those things. They said his arms got broken, when he crashed. The story about abuse are fake. People need to learn some real truth from our HERO's who were there, NOT LEFT, LYING MEDIA nor his lying family.

Good point, as usual. Trump could have said, "Eff 'im! Let 'em take a Greyhound." McCain would have done something like that if he was President and hated Trump.

Since none of us was in the room when Trump issued the order, it's probably horsefeathers to make up a quote or presume to know what he was thinking. Regardless of his motive or what he said at the time, permitting the use of the plane showed more dignity than was evident throughout the funeral-a-thon.

That, too would have been seen as petty and "in your face." Offering to allow the use of a USAF asset was just the right touch, and displayed more class and compassion that the entire McCain clan, and their followers.

I think he likes the attention it provides his ego. I think growing up he did the same thing.... acted up to get attention from his poor, weary parents... who finally shipped him off so someone ELSE could give him 24/7 attention...lol.

The C-32 used as Air Force 2 is eight years newer than the VC-25A used as Air Force 1.

I agree. It is a shame that NO MATTER what my great president does, he gets criticized for it. Hell if he does, hell if he doesn't. I think that speaks to the insanity of the people doing that criticizing. As if, it makes them "smart" doing that.
How about we are, ALL AMERICANS and support our duly elected president? What a concept. The people have been led to criticize him & mock. ONLY SHEEP DO THAT. I prefer to be a patriot & support my president & America, or else we WON'T HAVE AN AMERICA ANYMORE! I lived socialism. We were starving, the sheep continue to bad mouth MY PRESIDENT!

Yeah, I'm going to rain on this parade. I don't think McCain should have been given a royal funeral. We don't do royal. And, that plane belongs to the American people, not Trump. I agree that this was very generous of Trump, but it wasn't his to be generous with. It was a small thing though and I'm not going to get worked up about it.

Rain, rain. Trump had nothing to do with the funeral, that was the press and all the far-leftists that did that. IIRC, Trump wasn't even invited.
Offering AF2 for a prominent Veteran who was also a Senator is not something I'd begrudge, it added nothing to the pomp, it was just thing done. And, I'm the last person you'd find getting worked up about anything associated with McCain. On a normal day, I'd be hard put to be pleased about anything either of those two do/did.
