Rice U. LGBTQ club cuts ties with Jewish group over its ‘invalidation of Palestinian experience’

The Rice University LGBTQ student group Rice Pride has severed ties with the Houston chapter of the Jewish organization Hillel due to it, among other things, “invalidating [the] Palestinian experience and heritage.”

Rice Pride Co-President Cole Holladay (pictured) said Hillel International’s “standards of partnership ... are incompatible with the operating mission of Pride” and have been used to “cut ties or spark conflict with other organizations that support Palestine,” The Thresher reports.

Co-President Jorge Arnez (pictured), who says on the Rice Pride website that he “hope to help build the same level of community for everyone at Rice so we can maximize the amount of queer joy,” noted the cutting of ties isn’t related to any specific actions of the Houston Hillel.

He said, however, since the Houston chapter is “under the direction of Hillel International ... that’s enough for a lot of students.”

The degree of clue-freeness in this is off the charts!

I will donate to send each of these club members to Gaza, or Tehran, or Kabul, or Khartoum so they can experience first hand what Palestinians and their political allies think of them.

If one traces back through articles and links, one finds that the tie-cutting was announced on September 18th, nearly 3 weeks ago. How is this "on queue" or on cue?

Who knew?

BTW,WTH does being opposed to an Arab invasion of Israel have to do with homosexuality? Are these people so bleeping clueless that don't understand that homos in Arab nations can be put to death  for being homos?

Serious question,here.

IF what they claim is true,WHY don't they ask and get their fellow Arab countries to take them in?

It certainly is a legitimate question. If there really were a "Palestine," it would be part of present-day Syria, as I understand it. So why won't Syria give up a few hundred square miles for their fellow Muslim Pallies to live out their days in peace and prosperity?

I went to the "Palestinian Resistance" protest near Harvard today. Here is what you need to know.
1. The flyer declared "victory is ours."
2. Chants called for the destruction of Israel
3. Protestors called the Israeli's across the street "nazis"
4. Hundreds of people showed up
5. Things got intense with the Israeli side.
6. Police did a great job at keeping the two groups separate.
7. Many chants accusing Israel of white supremacy
Reporting coming on Fox News.

American Military News by Timothy Frudd  October 09, 2023

Thirty-one Harvard student organizations released a letter Saturday that claimed Israel was “entirely responsible” for the “unfolding violence” in the Middle East that has left over 1,100 people dead in both Israel and Gaza after Hamas, an Iranian-backed terrorist organization, launched attacks against Israel over the weekend.

On Saturday, Hamas conducted multiple attacks throughout the southern region of Israel and took a large number of Israeli soldiers and civilians hostage. The Iranian-backed terrorist organization killed over 700 people and left thousands of civilians injured, according to Fox News.

After news of the devastating attacks was reported, 31 Harvard student organizations signed a statement placing all of the blame on Israel for the violence carried out by Hamas terrorists.

Dear Members of the NYU Law Community:

Some of you may have seen a message from the president of the Student Bar Association regarding the horrific conflict in Israel and Gaza.  This message was not from NYU School of Law as an institution and does not speak for the leadership of the Law School.  It certainly does not express my own views, because I condemn the killing of civilians and acts of terrorism as always reprehensible.

The attack on Israel and the subsequent and ongoing hostilities have made this a period of extreme pain and distress for many members of our community.  Since the weekend, I have worked with administrators to provide support to students, faculty, and alumni who have been affected by this crisis.

The feelings that divide people in the world at large are certainly present within the Law School, but I hope that we are able to address them with compassion and mutual respect. The Law School’s leadership team will continue to provide the resources and support we can.

NYU law student group moves to oust president who cheered Hamas attack

By Jesse O’Neill
Published Oct. 11, 2023

New York University’s Law Student Bar Association on Wednesday moved to oust its president who had penned a controversial pro-Hamas column in the school’s newsletter, as school brass issued yet another statement condemning the comments.

The backlash came a day after group President Ryna Workman posted a message accusing Israel of “state-sanctioned violence” and saying they bore “full responsibility” for the barbaric and highly coordinated terror attacks that killed more than 1,200 civilians Saturday.

On Wednesday, members of the Student Bar Association released a statement saying they did not “write, approve, or see this message” before it was published, and said Workman did not speak for them.

The SBA Board moved to remove Workman, who identifies as non-binary, as president, a process that will require two hearings later this month, according to the statement, which claimed students were being doxxed, harassed and threatened with death after the posting was made.

Meanwhile the prestigious Greenwich Village law school released a statement — the second from school officials since the statement was made — that sought to make “several things abundantly clear on behalf of the NYU Law Board of Trustees and our Law School as a whole,”

Harvard students scramble to take back support for letter attacking Israel as some CEOs look to blacklist them

By Melissa Koenig
Published Oct. 11, 2023

A flurry of Harvard University students and groups are desperately trying to backtrack on their support of a letter blaming Israel for the mass slaughter of its own people by Hamas terrorists — as some business titans seek to blacklist them from future jobs.

Four of the initial 34 student organizations attached to the inflammatory statement have already withdrawn their support — while board members of other groups have quit to distance themselves.

Late Tuesday, 17 other Harvard groups joined around 500 faculty and staff and 3,000 others in signing a counter-statement attacking the other groups’ letter as “completely wrong and deeply offensive,” according to the campus paper, the Harvard Crimson.

A third letter from nearly 160 faculty members also ripped Harvard’s response to the scandal, writing that it “can be seen as nothing less than condoning the mass murder of civilians based only on their nationality.”

Others in groups supporting the initial letter — which held “the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence” — quit while distancing themselves from any involvement.

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors once called for the end of Israel at a public talk in 2015, resurfaced video shows.

“Palestine is our generation’s South Africa. If we don’t step up boldly and courageously to end the imperialist project that’s called Israel, we’re doomed,” Cullors claimed during a panel at the Harvard Law School.

Fox News reports:

The Human Rights Program at Harvard law hosted Cullors and several other activists in April of 2015 for a panel titled, “Globalizing Ferguson: Racialized Policing and International Resistance.” During the panel, Cullors shared her experience in visiting the West Bank and Gaza in 2015 as part of a delegation with other far-left activists. She claims she witnessed “violence” and the “terror” against Palestinians which was caused by Israelis and “Zionists.”

She told the audience one way for Americans to fight back was to join the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to pressure Israel to change its policies toward Palestinians.
