Wonderwall.com Editors
The movie "Batman" hit theaters 30 years ago on June 23, 1989. In celebration of this milestone anniversary for the superhero flick, which follows the Dark Knight as he inadvertently creates the Joker by dropping him into Axis Chemical acid, Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at stars who've portrayed Batman in a major capacity over the years.

I still think the original was the best -- Adam West. Of course, the tv show was campy and silly -- the movies were more serious, not even close to being the same. Kind of like comparing apples and oranges, I think.
Of the movie Batmans, I guess I would be partial to Michael Keaton, but only because he is a native of my neck of the woods.

Kevin Conroy, the actor who voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman: The Animated Series and several other series in DC's Animated Universe.

Agree. The Batman of film wasn't supposed to be taken seriously.

No contest.

Gotta go with Adam West since I've never seen the others....
-
Michael Keaton was great!
-
Winnner: Campy Batman. Adam West Owns the franchise.
1st runner up "Why so Serious" Batman.... "I Am Batman" Mike Keaton.
Last and The worst Batman: Jorge Clooney. So gay.
-
Babe Ruth, of course!

Clooney stinks. The media tells us what a great actor he is and oh, he's so handsome. IMHO -- wrong on both counts.

Lego Movie Batman is better than George Clooney Batman.

I can't say that Clooney is the best since I haven't seen the movies. But he is handsome...if he keeps his mouth closed.
So I'll have to go with Adam West. Not my fav show...but my little brothers loved it.

Not a question. Adam West! Or Mayor Adam West for those Family Guy fans

@corbe who was your personal favorite?
-
I've never watched any of them @Gefn so I am totally unlearned on this. Was she Batman's GF or nemesis?
-
I can’t recall from the Adam West version but I think she worked with Batman and the boy blunder, Robin. You know, through in a little 60s sex.....
-
... Was she Batman's GF or nemesis?
The short answer is "yes". Over the the 80-odd year timeline of the characters' existence, their relationship has changed, depending on the writers. The characters started out purely as adverseries; then it started being written as Catwoman being a "bad guy" who was interested in Batman, but he had no interest in her; then he slowly started developing an interest, as the writers looked for new storylines. Then in the 70s (IIRC) it became established that on Earth-2, the Earth of the Golden Age superheroes, after Batman retired from being Batman, Bruce Wayne married Selina Kyle, and she gave birth to a daughter, who grew up to become the superhero named Huntress. That's been retconned away so that the current character named Huntress has no blood relationship to either Batman or Catwoman. But there is still some underlying, unrequited sexual tension between Batman and Catwoman, in the modern stories.
Did that clear things up or make it worse? :thud:

I went to Google images of her (CatWoman) and forgot to turn safe search on, lost another 30 minutes. Was Bruce Wayne gay?

That explains everything i ever wondered about why you are the way you are!

The Adam West animated movies towards the end of his life were the best...

I’m just happy that people here seem to like Adam West. Too bad he’s no longer with us.
-
Adam West of course; the ORIGINAL caped crusader with all the slappy, silly, goofy 'POW's' and 'SHAZAM's. The Riddler was my fave.

After conducting my own unscientific poll on 6 people
They all said
ADAM WEST!

Michael Keaton was great!
Agreed.
-
Or Bat Girl
There can only be one Bat Girl and she is Yvonne Craig, who by the way made a great Russian Ballerina in In Like Flint and a sexy green alien in the Star Trek episode Whom Gods Destroy (1969) ... Marta.

I'm guessing you are going with Frank Gorshin and not the two episode John Astin Riddler.

Too bad Frank Gorshin couldn't have thrown in a little Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas along with the crazy Riddler giggle. If you know what I'm talking about.
