Activists demand Black English be pushed on kids in California preschools

Activists are pushing for Black English to be legitimized in preschool as a way to build children’s literacy skills in California.
The Black Californians United for Early Care & Education (BlackECE) is part of a movement to challenge “harmful language hierarchies and affirm Black English as a legitimate, rule-governed language rooted in Black history, culture, and community.”
The nonprofit organization seeks to legitimize Black English in early education.

The movement also seeks to “address how language bias shows up in early learning spaces–and how it can be dismantled.”
“I don’t want my son to walk into any room and feel like his voice is not valued or his perspective can’t be heard because he’s not saying it one way or the other,” the co-founder of BlackECE Ashley Williams told PBS.

Then teach your children proper English.
Otherwise, everyone in the room will be thinking quietly what you think they will be thinking openly now.
Good ideas well presented will always find an audience, but speak poorly, and no one listens.
(would you be more likely to listen to the guy with the British or even midwestern accent or the one who sounded straight outta Compton?)

Ms. Williams thus expresses fear that her progeny will not "feel" valued - as though values were derived from emotions - or understood, as though it were other peoples' responsibility to decipher the intended meaning of incorrect grammar.
What she intends to say, but leaves to be inferred is that proper English speech is an artifact of Western culture and by extension, of White Supremacy.
I might explain to her that such irrationality is the source of many related problems within today's urban communities. But I would likely be considered a racist for my efforts.
So, perhaps the boy's father might explain it to him.
Or not.
