The cost of this entire contract is less than what Defense contractor General Atomics charges for a single drone.  And the Ukrainian drone has longer range/air time.

The U.S. Army has awarded a $10.64 million contract to Skyeton Inc., the American arm of Ukrainian drone maker Skyeton, for Raybird reconnaissance drones and related services, according to a Defense Department statement issued Sept. 18.

The Raybird is a Ukrainian-developed fixed-wing reconnaissance drone designed for long-range missions and extensively used on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The U.S. Defense Department's disclosure said it awarded Skyteton Inc. a firm-fixed-price contract of $10.64 million covering the Raybird unmanned aerial system hardware and services.

The number of systems being purchased was not disclosed. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with completion of the contract expected by Dec. 15, 2026.

My earlier assumption about this Russian Buk-M3 appears to have been correct.

Additional footage released by the Nemesis unit shows that after the initial strike, the covers came off the upper missile canisters. In the left one, you can clearly see what looks like three logs stuffed inside instead of a live missile.

So at least some of the upper canisters were apparently empty and used as improvised protection rather than carrying missiles.

It is highly unusual to see a Russian Buk-M3 launcher with all six canisters mounted. Real Buk-M3s were usually seen with only one to three missiles, to the point that a full six-canister loadout became one of the more reliable indicators when trying to distinguish real launchers  x.com/bayraktar_1lov…

The first target was the ELOU-AVT-6 unit (55.644523, 37.805698), and the second was the Complex Oil Processing Unit (KUPN), part of the "Euro+" complex.

The KUPN sustained significant damage. The AVT-6 unit also received several hits.

In any conflict with Russia, those guys will be wiped out in a day or two, as the US had no dedicated FPV drone units and has eschewed Ukrainian battlefield-tested drone tech for built-in-the-US drone tech which is seriously out of date.

You certainly have a bit of a different perspective.   I don't see President Trump pressuring Zelenskyy at all.  Zelenskyy has stated his case, the world sees what is going on and most recognize that Putin is a bad player.  It's just trying to figure out how to deal with Putin -- I believe Trump is simply trying to keep some type of dialogue open with Putin.  Completely shutting him out won't accomplish anything.
