Iran indicates it’s received an official US response to its latest offer on ending the war

Iranian officials indicated Wednesday they have received an official U.S. response to Tehran’s latest proposal to end the seven-month war, which U.S. President Donald Trump had publicly rejected just days earlier.

The officials did not say what the response contained and whether it was a rejection.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi presented the U.S. response to President Masoud Pezeshkian at a Cabinet meeting, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani told the state-run IRNA news agency.

“We will make every effort to bring the agreement to fruition and will firmly stand up for the rights of the Iranian people,” Pezeshkian said. “The agreement must now be based on a win-win strategy.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio abruptly ended talks and ordered the Iranian delegation to leave the U.S. after negotiations stalled, yet again, with no clear sign of a breakthrough more than seven months into the conflict.

And now, President Donald Trump is directly warning Iran it's "possible" he will go harder with strikes in the Middle East after the midterm elections in November and revealed the U.S. military has significantly rebuilt its arsenal in recent months.

The latest messaging from the White House and State Department signals an increasingly strained diplomatic track, after days of negotiations failed to close the gap between Washington and Tehran over the terms of ending the war.

Asked in an interview with Time whether he would "ramp up bombing after the midterms," Trump replied: "Possible."

Further pressed on whether such an escalation was under consideration, the president declined to discuss potential targets but said the U.S. had spent months rebuilding its arsenal.

"We have a lot of weapons. You know, we’ve been stocking up for the last six months," Trump said.

Trump also used the word "possible" when asked whether he "might annihilate Iran."

After little progress in weekend meetings involving Iranian officials and Qatari mediators, Rubio told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation on Monday that they needed to leave New York, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News Digital after Axios first reported it.

Rubio concluded the Iranians had "overstayed their welcome" after the high-level U.N. meetings had ended. Araghchi had remained in New York for indirect talks seeking to end the blockade of oil and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, ending the conflict overall and restarting negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.

The State Department waived human rights conditions for $320 million in military aid to Egypt, citing Cairo’s “helpful role” after the start of the U.S. war with Iran, according to a letter to lawmakers obtained by Reuters.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio “has made a determination to waive the certification requirement with respect to $320 million in FY 2025 Foreign Military Financing for Egypt,” according to the Sept. 21 letter.

An accompanying memo said the aid was “necessary for counterterrorism, border security, or nonproliferation programs or is otherwise important to the national security interest of the United States.”

“Exercising this waiver authority is essential for the U.S.-Egypt relationship and U.S. national security priorities, particularly in light of Egypt's helpful role following Operation Epic Fury,” the memo said.

Operation Epic Fury is the U.S. military name for the campaign against Iran launched alongside Israel in late February.

Egypt receives about $1.3 billion a year in U.S. military aid, though portions of that support have previously been withheld over human rights and democracy concerns.

Donald Trump has sent 9,000 US troops to the Middle East after warning that new strikes against Iran could be on the horizon.

The US president has refused to dispel reports that further bombing could take place before the US midterms in November.

He also said early indications suggest that Iran was most likely linked to the Israeli plane hijacking attempt on Wednesday.

President Trump warned that the US would retaliate if the link is established to Iran, telling reporters: “Oh they’ll be hit, very hard, don’t worry.”

On Thursday, he declared that Iran must sign a peace deal or it “won’t exist any longer” after Tehran announced it had received a US response to its proposal to end the war.

The president had publicly rejected Iran’s peace offer just days earlier. On Wednesday, however, Iranian officials suggested the two sides largely differed over the timeline for its implementation.

• Acquired materials used to construct homemade explosives and drones capable of delivering them
• Traveled into Yemen using an official passport previously issued through his U.S. government employment
• Sought to reach Houthi-controlled Sanaa
• Used his electrical-engineering expertise to provide technical advice, schematics and diagrams for communications equipment he believed would be supplied to the Houthis
• Falsely told U.S. border officials after returning that his trip had been official government business

“These allegations are so deeply disturbing that they almost defy imagination,” Assistant Attorney General John Eisenberg said.

Ellaboudy was arrested Thursday in Washington state and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

IRGC makes direct appeal to US voters weeks before midterms

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is appealing directly to American voters ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, urging them to oppose President Donald Trump and pressure Washington to end the war.

The message appeared in a 25-page letter addressed to Americans and presented by IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi, according to the New York Post.

The letter blamed Trump and U.S. support for Israel for the conflict while accusing the president of misleading Americans about Iran’s nuclear program and the economic consequences of the war.

“The US economy is on the precipice of collapse, and yet he keeps on telling Americans that the economy is booming and the prices will soon start coming down,” the letter said.

The message comes as Iran faces mounting economic pressure of its own, with the rial falling Tuesday to a record low of more than 2.5 million to the U.S. dollar

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the U.S. is “trying to be nice” to Iran’s current leader as it seeks someone to negotiate with, saying most of the country’s leadership is gone.

Trump made the remarks while discussing the war with Iran during an appearance at a Peterbilt factory in Denton, Texas.

“For the most part, their leaders are gone,” Trump said.

“That was one of our problems. We don't know who the hell to deal with, to be honest," he added.

“We're trying to be nice to the current person, but we've got to deal with somebody at some point. So we're doing very well.”

Trump also expressed confidence in the war's outcome, predicting a quick resolution.

“We'll win very easily,” he added, stating he believes victory will come “right after the election—but maybe before the election.”

“Their currency is valueless. They have no money. They have no Navy—all 159 ships are lying beautifully at the bottom of the sea.” he said.

“They have some missiles, but we can handle it. Very few are left, and their manufacturing capacity is dead,” Trump added.

Ret. Gen. Jack Keane told "Fox & Friends" on Friday that President Donald Trump still has the option of returning to a "major combat operation" against Iran as the U.S. is sending the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Middle East.

U.S. officials said to Fox News on Thursday that the ships are set to arrive in the region by the end of November and that these new deployments will add about 10,000 sailors and Marines to the Middle East.

When asked Friday for his reaction to the new deployment, Keane said, "We've always anticipated — the Israelis and the United States — that Iran would likely escalate, prior to the elections in Israel in October, the elections in the United States in November.

"So that is likely part of what has taken place here," he told "Fox & Friends." "But it's also — the president has on the table, and he's never taken it off — returning to major combat operation. For our audience, as a reminder, that's combined operations U.S. and Israel. Likely a much shorter period of time, likely a much more massive attack than anything we've ever seen before."

Our intelligence is pristine. I mean, we've been tracking everything the Iranians are doing. Think about it, since the ceasefire on April the 7th. So we know where everything is, and we know what we need to do to deal with it. And obviously, we have priorities that certain things are very important. And it would provide complete devastation to this regime and its ability to go forward," added Keane, a retired four-star general.

"No doubt we can put it on a path for its collapse. And I'm making the assumption that the CIA and the Mossad are working full time here to undermine the regime, fracture it, and also work with groups that want to provide some significant resistance to the regime. Let's just make an assumption that that's also taken place," he added.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) said in a new report issued Friday that the threat environment in the Middle East "remains elevated" for commercial shipping as "no diplomatic resolution has been achieved."

It assessed the risks as following: "Strait of Hormuz SEVERE (hostile action highly likely, continued navigation interference and potential mining activity); Gulf of Oman MODERATE (ongoing electronic interference and enforcement activity); Arabian Gulf MODERATE (navigation interference and residual kinetic risk remain present)."

In the Strait of Hormuz, “Commercial vessels continue to be targeted on the southern route, with ongoing military activity sustaining an increased risk to maritime operations,” according to UKMTO.

“Since 6 Jul 26, 31 of 48 projectile strike incidents reported to UKMTO have occurred on the southern Omani route. There is probably other projectile strikes occurring that have NOT been reported to UKMTO," it also said.

The warnings come as Reuters, citing data from S&P Global Energy, reported Friday that 19 liquefied natural gas cargoes exited the Strait of Hormuz in September, the highest monthly level since the onset of the U.S.-Iran war in February.

An Iranian lawmaker claimed Friday that Tehran is in control of the Strait of Hormuz, a report said.

Mohammadreza Rezaei Kouchi, the head of the Iranian parliament’s civil affairs committee, said Iran's military has “full intelligence and operational oversight” of the key waterway, according to Iran International.

“Any vessel seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, and any developments there, will be subject solely to the will of Iran’s armed forces,” he reportedly added.

President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the United States has “almost total control” of the Strait of Hormuz.

“I would say total control,” he said before adding that “everyone said, 'Well, they'll drop a mine in there and disrupt things a little bit,' but we have virtually total control of the strait.”

“These designations expose a sophisticated, multi‑year financing architecture that moved more than $2 million to Hamas through deceptive charitable fronts and cryptocurrency channels, demonstrating the organization’s persistent ability to adapt its fundraising mechanisms to evade detection,” the department said in a statement.

It added that Saleem Abdallah Saleem al-Zaq, who was targeted in Friday's action, "is a Gaza-based battalion deputy in the Hamas military wing who oversees a financial network that has used various money services businesses and cryptocurrency wallets to transfer significant funds to the Hamas Al-Qassam Brigades.

"Faouzi Barika (Barika) and Amel Oualid (Oualid) operate from France, where they run purported charities ostensibly to raise money for humanitarian purposes to aid Gazan civilians.  In reality, they partner with al-Zaq to raise and transfer money directly to him, which al-Zaq in turn funnels to Hamas," it continued.

State Department spokesman Thomas Pigott said “this action underscores the enduring U.S. commitment to dismantling Hamas’s global support networks and denying the group the resources it needs to plan and carry out terrorism that threatens the security of Americans, our partners, and the broader Middle East.

“It reflects close coordination between the Department of State, the Department of the Treasury, and the FBI to expose how Hamas exploits humanitarian and charitable structures abroad to disguise terrorist financing as legitimate aid work," he also said.

An Iranian cleric warned Friday that oil tankers and airports across the region could face disruption if Iran's oil exports or air travel are cut off, according to Iran International.

Hossein Hosseini Karnami, the Friday prayer leader in Sari, tied Iran's fate to that of its neighbors during a sermon.

"If our airport is to be closed, no airport in the region will remain open, and if our oil is not exported, no oil tanker will pass through the Persian Gulf," Karnami said, according to the outlet.

He also said "resistance and the soldiers of this land" would help determine whether the Strait of Hormuz remained open or closed.

The remarks came the same day the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported that a tanker traveling through the Strait of Hormuz was struck by an unknown projectile, resulting in a small fire and blackout. No casualties were reported.

Iran International did not report that Karnami was announcing an official policy of Iran's government or military.

9,000 More US Troops Head To Middle East As Trump Mulls Resuming Iran Strikes

While President Donald Trump contemplates further strikes, America is deploying seven more warships to the Middle East, with the fleet carrying approximately 9,000 more troops.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt and three accompanying destroyers left their port in San Diego early this week and they are expected to reach the Middle East at the end of November, The Financial Times reported. It remains unclear whether the USS Theodore Roosevelt will join the USS George Washington and USS George HW Bush in the region or replace them.

Additionally, the USS Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), consisting of an amphibious warship and two docking ships, is traveling to the region, according to the outlet. The ARG also carries the 13th Marine Expidentiary Unit.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) declined to comment to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

President Donald Trump said Friday that 18 U.S. service members have been killed during the more than six-month conflict with Iran, a figure reflected across the Pentagon's separate casualty categories.

"Iran, we've lost 18 incredible people, 18 and we've been there for a little more than six months," Trump said during a midterm campaign rally in Mobile, Alabama.

Trump also sought to clarify previous remarks about accomplishing his objectives against Iran within weeks, saying that timeline referred to preventing Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

"I did, but what I said is I would do they won't have nuclear. And I did that in one night. The B-2 bombers took him out, but," Trump said.

Trump argued that damage inflicted by U.S. strikes would take Iran years to rebuild.

"And we could leave tomorrow, and it would take them years to rebuild from what we did to them, because they just wouldn't. They should have negotiated. They played their cards. They played their cards too tough," Trump said.

The last time the Saudis tried to attack the Hooties [ using top notch US made weapons, mind you ], they had their butts handed to them. What makes this time different?

Got  my hands on an IRGC instructor training package for the IRGC/Basij terrorist apparatus which contains 2,521 files, including 266 presentations, 122 PDFs, 207 Word documents and 342 videos.

The material covers weapons, sniping/counter-sniping, ambushes, guerrilla and counter-guerrilla warfare, night combat, explosives and booby traps. Alongside that: psychological operations, urban patrols, checkpoints and dedicated urban unrest-control courses:

The 43-slide “Pacification” presentation lists “shooting by skilled marksmen” and “use of firepower” among the measures commanders may employ to control unrest. That’s slide 24, in the unrest-control course.

Same presentation classifies post-election crowds as “abnormal.” A companion deck lists wage disputes, unemployment, rising living costs and political grievances as causes of unrest.

A separate 61-slide presentation, attributed to an IRGC security unit, covers urban unrest operations and operational-control responsibilities involving the police and IRGC.

The Basij urban-patrol course details training qualifications for patrol personnel and leaders, mission orders, judicial-officer credentials, compensation insurance and an office providing legal support for Basij members facing problems during their missions. (!)

Combat training, protest suppression, ideological conditioning and the administrative machinery supporting the personnel carrying it out.

To clarify, the Hooties handed the Saudis a rounding, fully fledged defeat, wherein the Saudis actually ran away. The Saudis were not much interested in actually fighting, so they built sex forts wherein they would spend their time doing you know what with each other.
