Snowden, the politically-charged, pulse-pounding thriller starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley, reveals the incredible untold personal story of Edward Snowden, the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world.

He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others.

No matter which you believe, the epic story of why he did it, who he left behind, and how he pulled it off makes for one of the most compelling films of the year. 2016

THE BEAST IN ME

Claire Danes-Matthew Rhys

Grief-stricken and desperate for purpose, Aggie Wiggs (Claire Danes) becomes entangled with Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys) — a man once accused of murder. Obsession turns toxic. Danger creeps closer.

The Beast in Me is a dark and twisting new series that asks: When you chase a monster, what do you become?

I actually tried to watch but I didn't find it believable at all.

Young Washington (Angel Production) ... (folks that gave us the Jesus series that was so popular).

Well made, well acted, and nice perspective of a Washington before he became the revolutionary hero we know him as. Being a Angel production (I think they have Mormon ties??) it was a clean movie the whole family can watch. Angel productions are hit and miss with me, this one I chalk up in the positive.

Things I didn't like, little slow at times and some battle decisions made ya question his decision making early on.... but it is all part of the play on the humility-building of Washington's character (he made mistakes that cost lives). He was first and foremost a Virginian and it shows why towards the end. Movie for the most part was secular, they didn't really do any kind of attempt to glorify Jesus.

Good movie. 7 out of 10 for me.

IMO, Paramount Plus's LIONESS, (Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly) is the best series in which to binge.

One issue bugs me.  Let's stop the nonsense, please?

In Season 2, the narrative is that children are mainly being smuggled for sexual reasons.

I say that is BS.  They write zip cokes on the arms/hands of the children so that they can redirect them at the border.

An investigation will find that Catholic Charities are wards of these minor children, with the thought process that through chain-migration, 1 child becomes a dozen or more when siblings/parents/grandparents are reunited in "the States"

The zip codes in magic marker are assigned by the Democrat Party...into Red States.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it!   tipping hat!!

Yes, I saw the  movie in a theater on 4th of July weekend, and enjoyed it quite a lot. It reminded me of historical movies made in the 40s and 50s, a real throw-back to a time when there wasn't any swearing in movies, and the violence was mostly bloodless. Plus, I liked both the themes of patriotism and of overcoming one's mistakes that were featured in the movie.
America should be run for the benefit of Americans, not for foreigners, not for corporations.

Can't believe I'd never seen this until now.

Actors: Willem Dafoe, Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery
Director: Troy Duffy

Immediately afterwards, my son told me to watch "Nefarious", starring Sean Patrick Flanery

OMG...an Oscar worthy performance!!

Last night;
"Miniature", one of the one-hour-long episodes of the 4th season of the original Twilight Zone series. With Robert Duvall as an idosyncratic 30-year-old guy obsessed by a museum doll house...

I watched the latest remake of Carrie. Big thumbs down. Somethings just need to be left alone.

And then...(hangs head) I watched Valley Of The Dolls. One of the best worst movies ever made. :silly:

This past weekend watched "Yankee Pasha", 1954 film that actually had a take on islam for being made over 70 years ago.

It's on YouTube, free.
