Joe Biden’s ‘COVID Relief’ Bill Bails Out San Francisco Budget for Two Years

The $1.9 trillion “COVID relief†bill proposed by President Joe Biden and approved by Democrats in Congress “will erase the majority of San Francisco’s projected $650 million budget deficit over the next two years,†the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The Chronicle reported Tuesday that “S.F’s budget will be saved from painful cuts thanks to federal stimulusâ€:
The state and local aid is part of a $1.9 trillion federal stimulus package that will also provide money for public transit, vaccine distribution, extended unemployment benefits and $1,400 stimulus checks for those who make $75,000 or less. The U.S. House of Representatives, lead by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, plans to hold a final vote Wednesday. Then, it will head to President Biden’s desk for a signature.
If passed, the stimulus package will inject about $600 million into San Francisco’s coffers over the next two years, Rosenfield said. That leaves Mayor London Breed and the Board of Supervisors with a $50 million hole to fill, a fraction of what they were preparing to deal with.
“We still have a problem,†said Jeff Cretan, spokesman for the mayor. “We just don’t have a problem right now.â€

Subsidizing spendthrifts ensures there will be more and worse of the same.

If only we had someone in the GOP willing to immediately take this to court and get it thrown out for violating the Constitution. But then that would require taking a stand and actually doing something - two qualities the GOP lacks. If this was a Republican bill, Democrats would already have found a judge to issue an injunction.

I'm sure there're some goodies in the bill for republicans willing to play ball.

To which court would he take it? SCOTUS has already told us that states cannot seek to enforce the constitution there.

Democrats are somehow able to find some district court judge somewhere to issue an injunction that nullifies California state constitution, Kentucky religious protections, Louisiana abortion laws, or federal immigration laws. I'm sure the GOP could find a judge somewhere willing to do the same.
This new law makes it illegal for the State of Georgia to lower state taxes. Congress simply does not have this power under Article I. It also violates Article IV, Sec 4 as well as Amendment X. Yet not one Republican legislator has called them out on it.
