HILLSBOROUGH — A township man has been charged with murdering a 30-year-old woman Tuesday at the Bloomingdale Drive townhouse where she resided.
Juan Jimenez-Olivera, 29, of Hamilton Road, was in the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail on charges of murdering coworkeer Sviatlana Dranko and then setting fires inside the townhouse.
After being given his rights against self-incrimination, Jimenez-Olivera admitted strangling Danko, then setting fire to bed sheets and a couch, according to an affidavit filed in Superior Court.
Jimenez-Olivera, speaking through an interpreter, told Judge Robert Reed at his first appearance in court Friday afternoon that he was a Mexican citizen and that he wanted authorities to notify the Mexican consulate.
Reed said Jimenez-Olivera would be subject to deportation if found guilty.

This illegal admits to strangling the woman - and the taxpayer still has to pay the expense of a trial for him? Deported IF found guilty? :thud:
