I know what you meant,.  My point is Benjamin Netanyahu is rightfully known throughout the Western world as a first class liar, especially when it comes to peace negotiations.  He's really not an honorable guy.

Frankly, I wasn't going to dignify this post...but I can't help myself sometimes, lol.

I think you mis-typed...didn't you mean that Hamas is rightfully known as first class liars, especially when it comes to peace negotiations. They aren't really honorable.  (Reference 10/7 when there was a cease fire in place)

House GOP wants answers from FBI over diversity obsession
By Social Links for Miranda Devine

The FBI’s woke recruitment practices are under fire from Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, who are demanding answers from Director Christopher Wray over the bureau’s “hyper-fixation” on hitting DEI targets, which they say is putting American lives — and liberty — at risk.

The FBI has struggled to attract qualified applicants since President Biden issued his first executive order on Inauguration Day promulgating DEI programs across the administration, Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) claimed in a letter sent to Wray on Monday.

“A few months later, on April 21, 2021, you announced the hiring of the FBI’s first Chief Diversity Officer, Scott McMillon [and] the FBI [re-focused] its recruitment efforts on DEI statistics …

“The FBI’s hyper-fixation on hitting Biden Administration-imposed DEI initiatives, rather than qualifications that make the best federal law enforcement candidates and officers, has created a climate within the FBI that puts the American public and American civil liberties at risk.”

Well, rational people are advocating for peace and security.  This may not make the virtuous, either ---- but they do understand doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting a different outcome is insanity;  and this makes them pretty damn smart.

Who are those rational people?

Good. I say rip this bandaid off and get the show on the road...and over with.

Hamas doesn't want peace. Let the Gazans deal with that.

There are a few Jurors who will find him guilty no matter what, so the best Trump can get out of this is a hung jury.

I hope it taught him that he had no sense of humor.

Social Security trust fund to be exhausted by 2035 and Medicare in 2036, trustees project

The Medicare trust fund will be exhausted in 2036, and the combined Social Security trust fund will become exhausted in 2035, the programs’ trustees projected on Monday.

The report illustrates the long-term problems facing the entitlement programs, on which tens of millions of people rely. Nevertheless, it contained good news in that the deadlines have been moved back a bit from last year’s projections.

The extended timeline gives a bit more breathing room to Congress, where the looming depletion of the trust fund has become a top political issue. Both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump have vowed not to cut the popular entitlement benefits for seniors.

Still, the fact that the dates are still just over a decade away is another reminder of the fiscal cliffs that are looming large and the need for lawmakers to craft a plan to keep the programs solvent.

Jokes and Humor / Re: The Official TBR Silliness Thread---2024

A feisty but elderly man had owned a large farm for several years and part of his holdings was a large pond on the far end of his property.

The small lake with freshwater rivers flowing in and out was ideal for taking a dip on any hot sunny day.
So in his free time, he fixed the watering hole up with nice with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and some surrounding apple and peach trees.

One warm evening, the old farmer decided to go down to the pond since he hadn’t been there for a while. Grabbing a big white bucket to bring back some fruit he started out on the long walk to the remote area.
As he neared the pond, he heard voices shouting and laughing and there was much splashing and merriment. As he came closer, he saw the merriment was due to several young women who having chanced upon the small lake were taking the opportunity to do a little skinny-dipping in his pond.

As he drew closer, the young women were understandably alarmed. Now embarrassed and aware of his presence the youngsters scattered. Screeching, the nubile and naked women were aware of his presence.

As a group, they swam to the deep end. Then, one of the women shouted to him, ‘We’re not coming out until you leave!’

The old man frowned.

“I didn’t come down here to watch you ladies swim naked or make you get out of the pond naked.”
..............

Holding the bucket up, he cried out, “I’m here to feed the crocodiles!”

EXCLUSIVE — The House Judiciary Committee is aiming to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress for refusing to provide audio recordings of President Joe Biden’s interview with the special counsel who investigated his handling of classified documents.

The Republican-led committee is planning to hold a meeting to review a contempt report and hold a committee vote on the matter on May 16, according to two sources familiar with the plans.

The committee’s decision to move forward with contempt marks a dramatic escalation in its monthslong fight to obtain recordings of Biden’s interview, which former special counsel Robert Hur conducted last October.
