goodbye! 1-0 Dodgers on the first pitch of the bottom of the first . . .

I am calling it...Dodgers win! I do not like Dodgers.. Why didn't Vin Scully toss out the first ball?

A strikeout and two ground outs retire the Dodgers but it's 1-0 after one inning . . .

1-0, Dodgers after two.

Lived in SoCal for years....never remember it being that hot in October. 40 outside plus snow. Idaho.

True!

@musiclady Here we are!
Maybe I should keep the Electrolux as a backup plan in case my bum ever gets too wide to balance on the broomstick.

Think of your tulips in the spring!
Second double play turned by the Astros!
Is this going to be a defense vs. offense type game?
-
Chris Taylor lines into an inning-ending double play, the Dodgers' turn to waste
a leadoff hit. Third straight leadoff hit for the Dodgers in the game.
1-0, Dodgers after three.
Trivia: Taylor is only the fourth man in World Series history to hit a home run to
open his team's batting in the first inning. The others: Don Buford, Dustin Pedroia,
Alcides Escobar.

[Giggle]
-
Is this going to be a defense vs. offense type game?
It could. Both teams have gazelles in the infield and acrobats in the outfield.
-
The only Astro with three or more at-bats against Clayton Kershaw prior to tonight:
Jose Altuve.
-
@flowers
Me, either!
Game tied!
-
Well hit to left, going, going, going, it is gone, goodbye! Alex Bregman tied the game leading
off the top of the fourth.
-
Nice! tied game!
-
Bregman ties it up!
-
@Polly Ticks
That "giggle" was for you. Sorry, Flowers.
-
Altuve reminds me of that Astros player that would always get hit by a ball....Bagwell? Bigio. Remember the 3 Bees?
-
@Polly Ticks
That "giggle" was for you. Sorry, Flowers.
;)
-
Showed Kershaw's face after the home run. It had to have hurt.
-
After the Bregman bomb Kershaw strikes out the side again. The homer didn't
hurt him that much . . .
1-1 tie, middle four . . .
-
Bottom of the 4th. Tied game!
This is going to be a fight to the bottom of the 9th. Just my very humble opinion...

Can we say "cage match?" ;)

As we say down here in Texas, YESUM!
-
@DCPatriot
Here we are having some great times!
Game is just as I have been expecting! Very exciting!
-
Showed Kershaw's face after the home run. It had to have hurt.
I wish how I knew how to bring in some beautiful flowers!
How about a ⚾?
-
Three up, three down for the Dodgers, tied at one after four . . .
-
@flowers
I did again. I am hopeless!!!
Baseball just for you! ⚾
-
@flowers

Now it's becoming a "pitchers duel"?
-
@EasyAce
Now I see what I am doing incorrectly!
Just needed a little help from some friends!
Kershaw did it again!
-
Three up three down for the 'Stros in the top of the fifth, including Josh Reddick
looking at strike three knee high.
1-1, tied, middle five. . .
-
Now it's becoming a "pitchers duel"?
Great game!!!
-
Now it's becoming a "pitchers duel"?
If you don't count the two solo bombs, it's a pitching and defense duel so far. Both teams
are playing slick in the field.
-
Both teams complaining about plate umpire Phil Cuzzi's strike zone tonight . . .
-
Logan Forsythe dials Area Code 5-4-3 for the side. Third double play of the night by
the Astro defense. 1-1 tied after five.
-
Great game!!!
I knew it would be a great game just by the stats! The Dodgers and Astros managed to maneuver through the penant race.
Mind you, I would have loved to see my D-Backs here. Perhaps next year!
-
If you don't count the two solo bombs, it's a pitching and defense duel so far. Both teams

Three double plays by the Astros. Wonder how many double plays that have been executed by a team in Game 1 of the World Series?
Ten strikouts already by Kershaw???
-
Both teams complaining about plate umpire Phil Cuzzi's strike zone tonight . . .
If both teams are complaining, then Cuzzi's calls are fair to midlin, so to speak.
Another strikouts for Kershaw! Sheesh!
-
Three up, three down, eleven punchouts for Kershaw, six of them called strike threes - - - first Dodger pitcher to strike out
double digits in a World Series game since . . . Sandy Koufax, Game Seven, 1965 World Series.
1-1, tied, middle six . . .
-
@flowers
Yes, it is!

double digits in a World Series game since . . . Sandy Koufax, Game Seven, 1965 World Series.
1-1, tied, middle six . . .
This Game 1 will go down in history, no doubt!
-
If both teams are complaining, then Cuzzi's calls are fair to midlin, so to speak.
Some of the calls against both sides' hitters were very dubious, so far.
-
Vin Scully and Sandy Koufax in the house . . .
-
Some of the calls against both sides' hitters were very dubious, so far.
You would know far better than I do. I most definitely will agree with you!
Just dang...
-
Vin Scully and Sandy Koufax in the house . . .
This game keeps on giving!
Where is @truth_seeker?
-
Turner hits one high and deep to left center, going, going, going, this one is gone, goodbye!
Justin Turner, two-run bomb, 3-1 Dodgers, bottom of the sixth!
-
That sound!
Two runs by Turner!
-
That sound!
Two runs by Turner!
I've seen some games in Dodger Stadium. When the crowd gets that loud it can swallow you
alive if you're sitting in the lower sections of the park.
-

Justin Turner, two-run bomb, 3-1 Dodgers, bottom of the sixth!
@Cyber Liberty We were just talking about the pitch previous to this home run pitch was a very bad call by the home plate ump.
Turner got him! I have seen this happen so many times. Home Plate ump calls an incorrect strike, next strike, it is outta here!
-
I've seen some games in Dodger Stadium. When the crowd gets that loud it can swallow you
alive if you're sitting in the lower sections of the park.
I got lucky this year at our stadium, Chase Field. I had seats six rows behind home plate, but on the Cubbies' side. Usher saw how I was walking because my back was killing that day. She sat me down right in front where I could stand or sit. Saw Goldy hit a home run!
Routine double play. Dodgers only got one of them.
-
Stop the presses! Clayton Kershaw pitches the seventh and . . . lives!
Back-to-back forceouts at second help after Altuve's leadoff single. Fly out to center ends it.
3-1, Dodgers, middle seven.
-
Routine double play. Dodgers only got one of them.
Seager at short looked a little imbalanced. Remember, he missed the NLCS with back trouble. Might
still be trying to stretch it a bit. Give Forsythe credit for not rushing on the play and getting the sure
out after knocking the awkward toss down.
-
Take that, NFL!
-

I think this is probably the best World Series game I have seen in recent years! Forsythe deserves a lot of credit, for sure.
I was just "reporting," you know!
-
Take that, NFL!
I stood up, put my hand over my heart and sang along. Did you notice the last "home"? That is so difficult to do!
-
Another hit for Seager!
-
Keuchel coming out of the game after Corey Seager shot one up the pipe for a single.
Brad Peacock pitching for the Astros . . .
-
Keuchel coming out of the game after Corey Seager shot one up the pipe for a single.
Brad Peacock pitching for the Astros . . .
Peacock's first start postseason. Should be interesting, to say the least.
-
Walked first batter. Could be nerves.
-
The house organist plays "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida"!
-
Peacock pitches out of trouble and it's 3-1 Dodgers after seven . . .
-
Oh, my goodness. That must have been scary for the Astros having the Dodgers with two men on base.
Easy, just dang. You know everyone's names. How do you do that?
-
The house organist plays "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida"!
I did not notice! You are so good! Hahahaha!
-
Oh, my goodness. That must have been scary for the Astros having the Dodgers with two men on base.
Easy, just dang. You know everyone's names. How do you do that?
You ever heard of the box score? ;)
I have it up on my computer in another tab. (I'm a notorious multi-tasker, especially covering
baseball games . . . )
-
Brandon Morrow pitching for the Dodgers and Kenley Jansen warming up in the pen waiting in
the wings . . .
-
Three up, three down for the 'Stros, 3-1 Dodgers, middle eight.
-
Yeah, well I am on my Baby Kindle using one finger to text with my eyes on the television! LOL!
Baseball is so great! Makes ya proud!
-
Stringer plucked it right out of the air!
Turner up.
Just heard first time in a World Series that two players hit back to back homers. I must have misheard. That does not sound right.
-
No back to back bombs in this game, alas.
Kenley Jansen coming on for the Dodgers to pitch the ninth, the Astros down to their last
three outs of the game . . . 3-1, Dodgers after eight . . .
-
This is the Astros last chance with Jansen pitching. Strke two, but Altuve will have a chance at Jansen.
-
Awww, sheesh! Two outs!
-
Full count...
-
Jose Altuve, first pitch swinging, skies one to right center, Puig wants it, Puig has it, Game One
belongs to the Dodgers.
3-1 your final from Dodger Stadium.
-
Dodgers win Game 1. 2 hour, 28 minute game. Shortest game since 1992 timewise.
This was not long enough! But Kershaw got his first World Series win.
Congratulations to the Dodgers!
Astros, there is tomorrow!
-
Jose Altuve, first pitch swinging, skies one to right center, Puig wants it, Puig has it, Game One
belongs to the Dodgers.
3-1 your final from Dodger Stadium.
TU!
-
"They didn't come late and leave early tonight!"---Clayton Kershaw, post-game, on the Dodger Stadium
crowd.
-
Keuchel makes two mistakes Kershaw only one!
That's the game!
-
Keuchel makes two mistakes Kershaw only one!
That's the game!
Just about, but you left out the part about Kershaw absolutely out-pitching Keuchel. ;)
-
"They didn't come late and leave early tonight!"---Clayton Kershaw, post-game, on the Dodger Stadium
crowd.
I do remember that. Dodgers fans all got to the stadium around the third inning, then left around the 7th. Kershaw gave them the luxury to see the whole game tonight.
It was a good game. I thought it would be one hit apart, but I am wrong quite a bit. LOL!
-
Just about, but you left out the part about Kershaw absolutely out-pitching Keuchel. ;)
One mistake vs two! You win!
-
One mistake vs two! You win!
Were there any errors?
-
Were there any errors?
Unless you want to count a sure double play that wasn't, no mam!
-
One mistake vs two! You win!
Eleven strikeouts, no walks, three hits; versus three strikeouts, one walk, and six hits.
Not to mention Kershaw finally putting his seventh-inning postseason demons away.
-
Unless you want to count a sure double play that wasn't, no mam!
@EasyAce explained that "error" to me. More of an injury error, eh?
-
Unless you want to count a sure double play that wasn't, no mam!
They wouldn't have ruled an error on that play because, most of the time, you can't assume
a double play until it's executed to the finish. It's very rare to see that called an error.
-
@EasyAce explained that "error" to me. More of an injury error, eh?
Not so much an "injury error" as Seager probably still trying to stretch his back muscles a bit
after the LCS layoff. If he hadn't had the back injury and didn't have to worry about fluid movement,
he and the Dodger infield probably deliver that double play in his sleep.
-
Eleven strikeouts, no walks, three hits; versus three strikeouts, one walk, and six hits.
Not to mention Kershaw finally putting his seventh-inning postseason demons away.
At the risk of being forced to eat worms, the Dodgers outplayed the Astros in the first game.
