The Oval Office was redecorated with gold drapes just in time for President Trump’s arrival at the White House Friday.
The drapes were a change from the crimson drapes former President Obama had in his Oval Office, the Hill reported.
The change was first spotted as Trump signed executive orders on Obamacare and other things as his initial major acts as President.
The couches and other furniture seemed to be different, but the Resolute Desk, which has been in place for decades, remained, ABC News reported.
Trump also returned a bust of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to the Oval Office. Obama had removed it to make room for a bust of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Trump also displays the MLK bust in his office; it sits on a small wooden desk.
Most presidents use furnishings already in the White House collection to decorate the Oval Office, according to the White House Historical Association.

I prefer blue but it's his office :patriot:

Reagan went with both gold and 'crimson'. Bush went with gold. Clinton went with yellow.
Nothing to see here.
-
Seriously. If we have to get all worked up over the color of the drapes in the oval office.....

Guess you're wrong.
This is, under any criteria, a trivial matter..

okay, but when did he start measuring them.

The gold is actually pretty classic for the Oval Office decor, especially the classic sunburst. I like the blue edging that he chose. It actually looks pretty good considering the visuals of the office.
I believe these are the same design and color that Bill Clinton used without the blue trim.

President Bush went with an off-white similar to President Reagan.
JFK had a blue.
Obama had a different shade of gold, and maroon.
LBJ, stark white.

Finally, the carpet matches the drapes.

Not my style, but it looks OK.

My wife just said many people today have done away with carpet all together, or they just leave a few runners. It is easier to decorate that way.

Personally I'm going to take issue with the colors of that rug. Might want to change that, too...

From what I gather, removing all the carpet creates hardwood exposure.

I'm not real wild about the reddish color drapes, nor the paint-by-number artwork on the walls. (Pay no attention to the dead little white boy on the sofa).

Somebody threw away a perfectly good white boy.

Okay! I certainly didn't see that one coming....

The 'paint by numbers' paintings were by Edward Hopper, one of the most important landscape artists of the early 20th century. In addition to those, Obama kept the famous George Washington painting an added the Statue of Liberty by Normal Rockwell.
