Referee claims he told Jordan about Ohio State doctor's misconduct
By Rachel Frazin - 11/08/19 09:30 AM EST

A new lawsuit reportedly claims that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was told directly about misconduct by disgraced doctor Richard Strauss when Jordan was an assistant coach at Ohio State University.

A referee, identified as John Doe 42, filed the lawsuit Thursday in which he claims he reported to Jordan an incident in which Strauss masturbated in front of him in a shower after a wrestling match, according to NBC News.

The suit reportedly said that that Jordan and then-head coach Russ Hellickson said “Yeah, that’s Strauss,” in response.

John Doe 42 is the second person to say they directly told Jordan about Strauss's actions, according to NBC. An independent investigation found that the doctor sexually abused 177 male students.

This is soooo old!

Why didn't the guy tell the cops?  No money in it that way?   :shrug:

That seems to be common in these abuse cases. The victims complain about it amongst themselves, or when they tell an adult, that person does nothing. Perhaps Jordan was thinking there was nothing he could do with these second- or third-hand accusations, as it was.

A professional referee says in a lawsuit filed Thursday that disgraced doctor Richard Strauss masturbated in front of him in a shower after a wrestling match at Ohio State University, and that he reported the encounter directly to Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, who was then the assistant coach.

“Yeah, that’s Strauss,” Jordan and then-head coach Russ Hellickson replied, according to the lawsuit, when the referee, identified in court papers as John Doe 42, told them about the incident. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Ohio, implies that Jordan's response to the incident, which the referee said happened in 1994, was essentially a shrug.

John Doe 42 is the second person to say he told Jordan directly about either being approached or molested by Strauss, who was found by independent investigators to have sexually abused 177 male students over two decades.

GOP says "Yeah, that's Jordan."

@mystery-ak
I'm sorry.  I checked politics and scandal, but didn't check national news.

@mystery-ak  I seem to get reasonable results when I highlight and copy the first 6-10 words of a headline from the source, and paste that into the Search Parameters box, enclosed in quotes.  The quotes are important.
