I had 4 years of Spanish in HS- and one year in College. In grad school I had to pass a translation exam in Spanish to graduate.

I thought I would go to Paris in 2020- obviously I didn't. I just got comfortable doing 15-30 minutes a day learning French it's become almost automatic now.


I don't think I will be going to Europe anytime soon but a girl can hope, right ?

@Gefn    Wow. I am very impressed.  You are fluent in Spanish and now learning French as well.  That's awesome! What language program are you using to learn French??

You have inspired me to take up either learning Spanish or continuing to learn French (it's been a really long time though). I have been telling myself for years that I need to learn another language and just have kept putting it off. 

As for your trip to Europe -- yes, absolutely there's always hope.

Playground Hit By Rocket Attack

This morning, Hamas launched a rocket barrage at the southern city of Be’er Sheva. One of the rockets hit a children’s playground in the middle of town and wounded a 37-year-old woman who was nearby.

Thanks be to God that the warning sirens sounded in time, and the playground was not filled with children when the rocket landed. Rockets and shrapnel also destroyed a vehicle and damaged buildings and roads in the city.

This attack follows a series of missile, mortar, and drone attacks launched by Hezbollah in the north, damaging property, starting fires, and causing more casualties.

A rare Hamas attack hit the southern Israel city of Be’er Sheva on Friday evening, injuring a woman.

A total of five rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip at Be’er Sheva, the Israeli Defence Forces said in a statement. One was intercepted by the Iron Dome and the other four hit open areas.

A 37-year old woman was taken to hospital as she was lightly injured by shrapnel. Images from the city showed impact at a children’s playground, with some of the plastic installations mangled by the blast wave. ...

Damaged B-2 Won’t Be Repaired, Fleet To Shrink To 19 Jets
The Air Force deeming one of its B-2s to be “uneconomical to repair” comes as it pushes ahead with work on the new B-21 Raider.

The U.S. Air Force has decided not to repair a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber involved in a mishap because of the costs and complexities involved and will divest the aircraft instead. The news of striking one of the precious B-2s from its fleet comes as the Air Force continues to move toward fielding its new B-21 Raider stealth bombers as replacements for its existing B-2s, as well as its supersonic swing-wing B-1 bombers.


Details about the Air Force's decision to get rid of the damaged B-2, which is set to formally happen sometime in the next year or so, were included in an annual force structure report that the Pentagon released in April. Aviation Week was among the first to report on this development. There are currently just 20 B-2s in the service's inventory, including the damaged one.
 
 
"The B-2 is being divested in FY 2025 due to a ground accident/damage presumed to be uneconomical to repair," according to the Pentagon report. Fiscal Year 2025 begins on October 1, 2024.
