They hate you.
Leftists don’t merely disagree with you. They don’t merely feel you are misguided. They don’t think you are merely wrong. They hate you. They want you enslaved and obedient, if not dead. Once you get that, everything that is happening now will make sense. And you will understand what you need to be ready to do.
You are normal, and therefore a heretic. You refuse to bow to their idols, to subscribe to their twisted catechisms, to praise their false gods. This is unforgivable. You must burn.
Crazy talk? Just ask them. Go ahead. Go on social media. Find a leftist – it’s easy. Just say something positive about America or Jesus and they’ll come swarming like locusts. Engage them and very quickly they will drop their masks and tell you what they really think. I know. I keep a rapidly expanding file of Twitter leftist death wish screenshots.

I wouldn't go by what floats by in the sewer of social media but there is too much hate in what is called the left.

That's true, but FR is far more fringy than what is happening right now. You've probably got a good 30-40% of the population that fits the "left hates us" paradigm. FR is a drop in the bucket comparatively

Anyone with liberals/progressives among their relations can see there's something very special going on within that community. I've never seen or heard anything like it - they are losing it.

I've never heard of /pol/. And I don't have to go anywhere or even try to look for examples of what the author mentioned. The left's hatred is pretty much pop culture right now.

And yet, 99% of the people in the country, left and right, don't hate each other. It is the small minority of internet and protesting loudmouths that give the rest a bad name. Most people don't want to hate, they just want to get along and live their lives.

Quite right. While the word "hate" has lost a good lot of its punch and meaning in recent years, most of us aren't obsessed with hating those with whom we disagree. But there are some on both the left and the right - especially those who profess to be religious - who have a lot invested in the narrative that the other side is an "enemy" who hates us/wants to kill us/wants to force us to bend to their religion.

I honestly think that number is too small. I think you are underestimating the extent/breadth of radicalization on the left, particularly after this election.

You are probably right, maybe 75%. I have seen what I would have considered perfectly reasonable people on all sides, lately consumed by hate for the other side. But it certainly isn't a majority. It is just a loud minority.

I've got a mostly liberal family but only 1 or 2 of them are loud and aggressive about of it. The rest of them have their own problems to deal with.

Another facet of the late political season is the hard feelings and sniping among elements on the right, as ridiculous as it is.
I thought it'd pass by now but its still going strong.

Means nothing. I've seen more than one death threat at FR, and lots of calls for the "revolution" to start. I saw a post about some female liberal which urged, "Kill the bitch!"
But these are the keyboard losers who couldn't even be bothered to drag themselves out of their sagging recliners to go to Robinson's suggested inauguration party. You really think they're warrior material?
