This Could Be the End of Ted Cruz
By Peter Heck | May 24, 2017, 08:11am | @peterheck
According to preliminary reports, Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has gone into seclusion and is desperately trying to find reason to go on. It’s understandable given that you just don’t come back from this kind of thing. If you’re curious what has the star Senator from Texas reeling, Huffington Post broke the devastating news yesterday:
Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.)… has been cracking wise about one of his least favorite colleagues, Ted Cruz (R-Texas), while promoting his sarcastically titled new book, Al Franken: Giant of the Senate.
“You have to understand that I like Ted Cruz probably more than my colleagues like Ted Cruz,” Franken told USA Today’s Susan Page, repeating a line from his book, “and I hate Ted Cruz.”
“He’s a special guy,” the senator added. Indeed, Page reports that Franken dedicates an entire chapter of his book to Cruz, titled “Sophistry.”

If Al knew how much he was helping Ted he'd stfu, but he's a talentless idiot masquerading as a US Senator.
Franken explains why he made an exception to diss Cruz in his book
By Max Greenwood - 05/27/17 10:52 PM EDT
Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) said in an interview airing Sunday that he made an exception to recount conversations with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) in his new book specifically because Cruz "broke all the rules" of congressional interaction.
"Ted broke all the rules by calling [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) a liar on the floor in a speech, so I felt that that gave me license to make him an exception," Franken said in a pre-taped segment to air on CBS's "Sunday Morning."
Franken was referring to a 2015 speech by Cruz, in which he said that McConnell had lied to colleagues and was "willing to say things that he knows are false," a rare breach of Senate decorum.

Such a fantastically snarky article! Well done, Mr. Heck.
I especially loved the comparison in achievements between the two. After all, Al Franken has appeared as an adult on national television in a diaper. Ted Cruz, (thankfully), has not...

In other words, Ted Cruz violated the cardinal rule of D.C. politicians: he told the truth.

Franken used to be a comedian, but now he's the joke.
