'Syrian' military plane crashes near Turkey border
A plane believed to be a Syrian military aircraft has crashed near the border between Syria and Turkey, Turkish officials say.
A Syrian army source said the air force had lost contact with a fighter jet near the border, state TV reported.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said a search was under way for the pilot, who was thought to have ejected.
An Islamist group which is fighting the Syrian government said the plane had been shot down.

A Syrian Mig-21 fighter jet has reportedly crashed in Turkey's southern Hatay province after being shot down by the Turkey-backed Syrian rebel group Ahrar al-Sham, which is part of the Euphrates Shield operation, according to reports by Turkey's Anadolu news agency and Daily Sabah.

The article says Ahrar Al-Sham shot this plane down, while the stories indicate Turkey backs them, from what I know, these are not good guys.

They've been sort of an ally, at times at least, of Al Qaeda's Syrian branch in the murky war environment, read it for oneself.
